We live in Kalamazoo and come to Leelanau for a few days several times a year. Dave and Linda's place in Omena is always our first choice for a place to stay. The main house has the feel of a farm house of 100 years ago--historic but comfortable. The location and view are spectacular. From an upstairs room in the Wheeler House, you can sit on the upstairs porch and watch the sun set over Grand Traverse Bay. Omena is a quaint little town (if you can call it a town), and it's handy to the places we want to visit--Sutton's Bay, Fisher's Family Tavern, Knot Just a Bar and Larry Mawby's tasting room and deck.
The Sunset Lodge rates are much less than you'd pay at other Leelanau B&Bs, but that's not the only reason we come here again and again. The rooms are clean and comfortable; Dave and Linda are gracious hosts; and the breakfasts are wonderful.
