I paid too much for a waterfront room off season. Water is everywhere here so not worth it. We checked in around 9:30 and everything in this town was closed! We were told at the front desk that we could be served bar food at the Noggin room downstairs till ten, but when we were seated at 9:45 we were told 'too bad. Kitchen's closed". Starving, we went to wendy's. :( walls are paper thin, can hear trucks going by all night. Wouldnt stay again.

This is an historic hotel of America. The Perry offers warm friendly service, wonderfully comfortable rooms, fabulous breakfasts and great ameneties.

The staff goes out of their way to make your stay special. The "Noggin Room" in the basement offers great food, and fun with a casual atmosphere. Lots of tv's to catch your favorite sport.

A beautiful veranda to enjoy a cocktail in the afternoon, and my favorite spot....the sitting room. It has beautiful furniture, a fireplace and you can relax and enjoy reading or whatever at any time of day or night.

Great getaway spot.......more of an adult hotel (no pool). But our favorite hotel, in beautiful Petoskey.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the followers of Trip Advisor and thank you for the positive comments for our hotel and our staff. We are so pleased that you would call us your "home away from home" for that is our greatest complement. We strive to provide an experience that you would provide guests staying at your home and with the level of hospitality for friends and family that leave them with pleasant memories of our hotel and our area. Happy Travels!

I spent two nights here for a wedding. Average age mid-late 20s for most of the guests. As with most weddings, we wanted to enjoy ourselves and take advantage of the open bar. The wedding was great and afterwards we went to Noggins- the hotel bar on the ground floor. The bar closed at midnight on a Saturday. We offered to tip well to keep the bar open but the refused and kicked us out. So we went to the first floor common area where the reception was and hung out there. This are is away from guest rooms yet within 20 minutes someone from the hotel told us we were too loud and needed to leave. When asked why the employee threatened to call the cops if we didn't leave immediately. So we went to two of our rooms next to eachother to continue there. Again hotel staff came by telling us of noise complaints. We weren't being ridiculously loud and had no music playing, but the walls are wafer thin and you can hear a simple conversation through them. We weren't trying to cause a scene just enjoy the wedding night but there wasn't a place to in the hotel to do so.
Overall the outside of the hotel is nice, most of the staff is friendly but the rooms sucked. They were small, uncomfortably furnished and provided zero sound insulation. At $130/night it was not worth it. I would only recommend this to folks that are really into history and want to be on bed by 10. I just hope there aren't wedding guests on the same hall because you will hear them. This is not ideal for younger people or for people who enjoy any bit of night life. If you are coming for a wedding be prepared to take the party elsewhere.

Thank you for being a guest at Stafford's Perry Hotel and for taking the time to relate your experiences to the followers of Trip Advisor. We do host a number of wedding receptions at the Perry hotel and we do our best to balance the expectations of what this writer describes as the "younger crowd" with the balance of our hotel guests that may or may not be "younger" or part of the wedding party on any given night. We are obligated under our liquor license to refuse service to any person that appears outwardly intoxicated. We choose to close our on premise pub earlier than other extablishments because we have guest rooms in the vicinity of our common areas and we know that noise travels further than many people realize when they are "taking advantage of the open bar". I will not get into the particulars with this specific group, however the large majority of our wedding hosts appreciate our policies and we are very specific in stating our policies ahead of time so that many groups do in fact "take the party elsewhere" for after hours celebrating. I do apologize that you did not find our hotel to be to your liking on this occasion.

This place is located downtown, close to shopping and restaurants. Free parking, well appointed rooms. Casual dining in the Noggin Bar/lounge was excellent. Has outdoor porch to relax and dining in a garden area. Would stay here again. WiFi free and a little "business" area with two computers and printers, also free. Could not ask for more.

Petoskey is a wonderful small town on the top of Lake Michigan with plenty of shops, artisans and very wonderful restaurants. We found the farmers market to be filled with all local produce, local products and just a wonderful group of passionate people. We were given a gift certificate by our children and it took us way too long to finally use it. My husband and I were quite impressed with the town and all of the wonderful work/amenities that this town had to offer and designed to make this a planned destination. I could move there today for the beauty, however, there is no international airport close by!

Room Tip: Balcony overlooking bay
