Stayed here again this summer and was once more won over by the charming quaintness. This time we brought our whole family and had 3 rooms on the top floor; felt like we had rented a large suite of rooms. If you yearn for stairs and floors that creak with age, giving the sense of old-world allure, then search no further Up North in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Less than an hour drive to Mackinac Island Ferry, very close to Petoskey and Harbor Springs and their drawing fascination... perfect place. Include the breakfast, it is filling and delicious in the 1922 Room or on grand front porch. Also easy access to marvelous trail across the over-road walkway on 31. Be sure to take in the opportunity in the summer for concerts in Bay View. Til next time....

Room Tip: No Elevator. Try the Queen room with large sitting area on 3rd floor.

On my birthday June 12th, I walked through the doors of "Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant" and fell in love with the place. It's so cozy and homey. The architecture is amazing and the grounds are so beautiful and lush. This glorious inn is the kind of place you'll never want to leave because it's just so inviting and relaxing. There's a lot of ambiance and history to treasure here. It's a classic place that should appear in a major Hollywood movie. The Terrace Inn is part of Bay View Association so you can really feel the Victorian era here. "LIghts, Camera, Action"

We enjoyed a wonderful meal and evening at The 1911 Restaurant. Their Classic Beef Wellington was very delicious. I highly recommend this place for fine dining in Northern Michigan. The location is in Petoskey’s Bay View Association, and is nested in and among several beautiful Victorian cottages. We dined on the porch, on a popular evening; the ambiance was pleasant with live piano music playing in the background, under the chatter of conversation that filled the air. We enjoyed the open air and had a narrow glimpse of the bay down through a courtyard and past other cottages. The menu prices were as you would expect when fine dining, but the proportions were generous. This restaurant is a good choice for a special occasion.

We spent three nights at the Terrace Inn in Bay View, MI. Our room was on the main floor. It was comfortable and clean. This is an historic building, so, it shows some age. We enjoyed our stay. Service was a little slow at times. The included breakfast was a nice meal. The wifi was poor at times.

Room Tip: There are no elevators.

My daughter and I were on a road trip to Mackinaw island when we saw the sign for Terrace Inn. We thought the neighborhood full of Victorians looked interesting so we followed the signs to the inn. Mo (the owner) was at the front desk and greeted us very warmly. He offered a choice of rooms and we chose room 305 with two twin beds. It had two windows, one with an air conditioning unit and the other that opened (which I loved ... it was a beautiful night with crisp cool air). It had a TV with a working remote. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, linens were clean, towels were clean and very soft, beds were very comfortable.....it was an excellent stay. There were two suitcase stands in the closet and there was plenty of room to set both up. We sat outside on the porch playing cards, drinking wine (that Mo served me). We walked about 3 blocks to the beach and searched for Petosky stones (yes, found a handful!) Breakfast was delicious....good coffee, OJ, egg dish, potato dish, fresh fruit, great granola, yogurt, homemade bread and pastries....and then the usual breads and bagels for toasting. Mo was in the dining room chatting with guests. A local artist was in the lobby painting. We really enjoyed our stay, and we would return.

This is a quaint old inn. tI needs some sprucing up and a thorough cleaning. The pillow cases were dirty on our bed and they came up and changed them, the towels in the bath were stained and they brought us new ones, but left the stained ones. The floors could have used a sweeping in the bath as well. There was a book on politics left on the bedside table as well, kind of strange. We did enjoy dinner and breakfast in their dining room, but the table wobbled and in the morning the toaster threw a breaker when then the waffle maker was turned on. We enjoyed a walk around the area and down to see the sunset from the park. Really could use an update and cleaning though. And no sound proofing, you could hear footsteps and whispers from the hallway.

Room Tip: I would go else where for a good room.

This B&B needs serious updating and is not worth the money. The decor is very poorly done, the mattress was the worst I have ever slept on, the breakfast was like something you would expect at a Holiday Inn Express not a B&B. There was a girl that worked behind the desk who was VERY indifferent to the needs and concerns of the guests. The rooms are extremely overpriced for the quality of the building, furnishings and breakfast. Mo is a nice guy but that does not make up for what is lacking. Do not waste your time and money here.
