“Neat & clean, competent, and inexpensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2013 via mobile

Driven by it many times, I would never have gone in if someone hadn't told me about it. The outside is uninviting: windowless, small electric sign not on. No alcoholic beverages. How do you do Mex without cerzveza, sangria, or margaritas? If they had that, you'd already have been here. But once inside, the place is clean and cheery. My young waitress was knowledgable, attentive, and absolutely charming. The guacamole was fresh fresh fresh and chunky the way I think it should be. The tortilla chips were warm. The salsa had some nice customizing done to it, good, if not quite my preference. The enchiladas, burrito, sauce, rice, and beans were absolutely average for around here, which means good I guess. What is it about Mex in Oakland County that nobody does excellent, or even, above average? They ought to drive downtown to Xochimilko and learn how much better this stuff can be with just a little more attention to detail. There are no booths, just tables. The room is lighted with bright ceiling lights that in any other place only come on after last call. Even with no alcohol, just a few simple, inexpensive touches would greatly improve the place. I'll come back again, for lunch, anyway.
