So I did not imagine this would be on TripAdvisor, but I feel that I should give it its due. This is not a spot for those who are super health concious. It is a fried chicken place. It is however MUCH better than KFC since they changed their recipe. (Why is KFC now gray color rather than brown anyway???) Broasting is supposed to be a better way to cook than deep frying, although I do not understand why. Let's face it - broasted chicken, done correctly, is just good! Everything in moderation I guess. . . . They do a wonderful job on broasting chicken! They typically have coupons available so that limits the hit. They also do ribs. did I mention they have ribs??? mmmmmmm! Ribs are a bit costly, something in the $16 rack range, but good! The atmosphere is city fun - there are pictures of locals up, the local festival and so on. They are polite, fast, and there is a counter looking out onto the street as well as several tables. The cole slaw is sweet-creamy style, has enough carrots for color and they are not skimpy with it like KFC. Their potatoes are eather french fries or skin-on home fries that are bigger chunks. They will butter them unless you instruct otherwise. I have had their perch as well as their shrimp. that pushes the cost up substantially but would be a good thing to try if they are offering a combo special. They offer a drive through service and you can order ahead if you wish. This is once of several in the franchise around the Detroit metro area. I do not know if there are significant differences between the franchise sites, but I like this one as well as the one on Telegraph Road down by the Airport in Dearborn.
