“what ever the season may be, excellent place”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

When my families come to st.ignace this is the place they stay. The staff takes such great pride in their guests. The landscape to the view of lake Huron is beautiful, bon fires, volleyball nets lots to keep the families having a great time. They have many different size rooms to accomidate which ever size your family needs. The Cedar Hill Lodge is a great place for family reunions, vacation with multiple families as well.

We spent the weekend here for the pond hockey tournament and had a blast. The rooms are clean. Breakfast was pretty decent. They have a nice pool and hot tub area. The employees and management were very accommodating.

We stayed here for a hockey tournament and were very impressed by the friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel is a little older but still in good shape. The rooms aren't huge but the beds were very comfortable. My only suggested improvement is on the housekeeping. We didn't get our garbage emptied the whole time we were there (Thurs to Sun) so it really piled up, and we found areas that needed a lot of attention under the bed and in between the bed and side tables. The pool and hot tub were a good size and not very busy. The breakfast in the morning was very convenient and had a nice variety of different types of breakfast foods to choose from. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming place to stay.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your recent stay with us! Having all of the hockey teams here to see us is always fun. Our main goal is to provide each and every guest with a comfortable and friendly stay, and we are happy you were able to experience this first hand. We apologize if you feel that housekeeping could have been more thorough, we have corrected the issue from that weekend and appreciate the feedback. Hope to have you as our guest again soon!

Staff was very accommodating and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. Location was great, not downtown but right off the freeway and not far from downtown. A very comfortable two nights. Understand the owner and operators are new management and doing a good it appears. Congrats!!

Room Tip: Wouldn't want to be in the main building if there is a choice, Too close to the highway leading...

Pleasant accomodations at a good value. We rented two rooms travelling with our daughter's family and they were located very near the indoor pool which was perfect for our grandchildren. The community hot tub located in the pool area was not operating at the time and appeared to be undergoing maintenance. Staff was very friendly and helpful and our rooms were clean. The grounds are large and appeared well maintained. The Lodge was not located in the central business district of St. Ignace but still only minutes away by car to the boat ferrys and shopping. We would stay here again.

We stayed at the Cedar Hill Lodge the night before the Labor Day Bridge Walk this year (last weekend). The price was good. The pool was great and best of all, we could bring out little dog. There was a cook-out for everyone and that was very good too. Everything was close and easy to get to. The desk people were very nice. Check-in was at 3:00 p.m. However, the room was being cleaned and ended up not being ready until almost 3:30 p.m. Actually, the room itself was not that clean and by that I mean there were cob webs with spiders in them above the bed and along the edge of the floor.. The beds were very clean and comfortable. There was not a coffee maker in the room, but a telephone, air conditioner and flat screen TV. All and all, I would stay there again in a minute. It just appeared that they were busy and didn't have enough time to get things done properly. We're already planning on next years bridge walk and hope to have a reservation there again.

Room Tip: First floor rooms

This family-run hotel gave a formerly vacant property a facelift. The owner's daughter ran the front desk, and shared with us that they opened at the beginning of this summer with great prices to get the word out there. What especially endeared this property to us was the large open lawn with outdoor sports equipment (volleyball, soccer) and an indoor swimming pool (although the jacuzzi was still under renovation).

We booked the day before our arrival and were pleasantly surprised at the location (a short walk to the beach), the cleanliness, and the hospitality. Breakfast was above average, with "hot breakfast" being pancakes, sausage patties, French toast sticks, and biscuits & gravy. Rooms were basic but clean and mostly well-kept. When a problem with the TV occurred, the owner was immediately available to fix it.

We would definitely stay here again.
