Tried to go here and they are no longer open or even there. Since it is no longer there, this review space for this business should not even be listed.

This is a very casual establishment. I think they are just getting started so, perhaps trying to find their groove. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with two sides. The pork was good but I had an issue with the bottom half of the bun pretty much disintegrating so had to eat my sandwich with a fork. There might have been just too much meat on the sandwich which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it was still difficult to eat. The potato salad was kind of bland--again not bad but not great either. I also had the cucumbers & onions (which is a childhood favorite) and they were very good. For a quick lunch or dinner (they are expanding to serve breakfast also) at a reasonable price, the Hickory Pit may be just what you are looking for.

The Woodpile was delicious! Unfortunately there was only one waitress running the whole restaurant the evening we went.

After reading the reviews on this site we decided to stop in. The food was good and lots of it. Tried the deviled eggs nothing out of the ordinary except the name!! Husband did the mixed plate with beef ribs, baby backs and brisket. I had the pulled pork. Its good stuff but wouldn't compare it to BBQ places in Chicago like another reviewer did. But still great value and defiantly worth stopping in.

We were disappointed that a neighboring eatery was closed and so we peeked in the window of this place and looked at the menu, esp. the daily specials. Not really BBQ aficionados but being hungry we decided to try the day's special, pulled pork sandwich w/chips and share a soup of the day. WOW!! The cook took our order and informed us about the meats available.. The cuisine is northeastern Kentucky and we started with Burgoo, a soup of many of the meats and all the vegetables in the kitchen, usually cooked in large outdoor cauldrons over an open fire for hours. Additionally this soup is smoked, the whole pot, for some many hours. It was so thick the ingredients mounded over the rim of the cup. SO GOOD!! And so affordable.. His unassuming personality and informative demeanor made the visit even better. We sampled some brisket and loved the sandwiches and the sauces. Highly recommended...
