Hidden Garden Cottages & Suites

We've visited Saugatuck several times, but this was our first time to stay here. We are so happy we found Hidden Garden Cottages. This will definitely be the place we stay on future visits.

We visited June 17-20 and stayed in the Orleans Cottage. Check in was quick and without any of the awkwardness that can sometimes accompany a small inn. Our innkeeper Gary took the time to escort us to our room. There was a very useful binder of local information about where to eat, shop, attractions, etc. During our stay in Saugatuck, we visited every one of the "must visit" restaurants our innkeepers recommended, and we were never disappointed with their advice.

Like many towns the size of Saugatuck, there are several streets of small shops. The location of the inn is remarkable. It's tucked behind one of the streets with shops, and as you walk into the cottage garden, it's as though you've been transported to a tranquil, private place in the country. The comfortable wicker rocking chairs on the cottage porch were the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying a glass (or more) of wine.

With the weather as nice as it was during our visit and with so much to do in the area, we didn't spend a lot of time inside. Nonetheless, the room itself was beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and inviting.

The Hidden Garden was a great find. We will be back!

Room Tip: Get one of the cottages that surround the garden!

Having had a wonderful time in Saugatuck last Winter, we decided to travel there again in the warmer season. We picked our 2nd anniversary weekend, June 7th & 8th, for the occasion. Hidden Gardens is truly a gem. It is right downtown in walking distance to everything. However, it is nicely tucked away so you are secluded from the noise of the streets. we stayed in the Orleans Suite. Our room was decorated beautifully with themed items from New Orleans and Mardi Gras. Gary and Jonathon were wonderful hosts. Breakfast was left in our room daily, so we were able to enjoy it in bed or on the patio each morning. We will definitely be returning to Saugatuck and when we do, we will be staying at HG.

Our first time to Saugatuck and what a gem of Inns to pick. We researched for a place in town with walking distance to the shops and this is right out the back door. Very tastefully decorated rooms and very clean. If I had to say anything negative I would wish the beds were softer and a reserved parking area for the guest but I still give this place 5 stars for overall. We are already talking about returning next spring!

Room Tip: We like the Tuscany because of the central Air in the unit.

We stayed in the San Juan suite from June 9 through the 12th. We loved it! We dropped our 7 year old off at camp and headed to Saugatuck, which we've never been to before. It was such a nice getaway! The Hidden Garden Cottages are located conveniently in the heart of town. The San Juan suite has a bedroom, sitting room, full kitchen and bathroom. The only slightly negative I could say is that that San Juan suite did not have an adequate outdoor sitting area like the other suites offered. This would not, however, deter me from booking this suite again. As a matter of fact, we plan on making this a yearly getaway!!!!

The Hidden Garden - San Juan suite - is an excellent Bed and Breakfast. The suite is very large with a jacuzzi tub, kitchen, fireplace, TV/lounge area, and a spacious bedroom. The location is near the center of Saugatuck so it is very conveniently located for shopping, dining, and enjoying the area.

The Hidden Garden suits are a bit expensive but comparable to other B&Bs in the area. We had a great time and plan to return to Hidden Garden next year.

Room Tip: There are four suites at Hidden Garden. San Juan is the largest. We visited the rest and they all...

We stayed at the Hidden Garden Cottages for 2 nights and it was truly delightful! Our room, the Kilimanjaro suite, was nicer than the pictures! The decor is very tasteful & understated -- the accessories just added to the room. We had not been in Saugatuck for years & could not figure out how this place could be so quiet & peaceful right on the main street of town -- but it truly was! It was great to have our breakfast ready in a basket in the fridge every morning -- the muffins are amazing (would love to get the recipes!) and fruit & cereal options really provided a good choice. The guest "guide book" that was on the desk was full of restaurant & activity suggestions, and both our restaurant choices from the recommendations were excellent. I don't think that I would change a thing, even if I could design the room myself. The owners/hosts seem to have pretty much thought of everything. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Room Tip: The Kilimanjaro suite was terrific -- the pictures are really accurate. One suite is on the second...
