“Simply an Awsome Experience!!!”
Reviewed 10 August 2008

I must say, this was one of my most memorable vacations I've ever taken! Sally and Pete were awsome hosts, and made sure that everything went without a hitch for us. They were very knowledgeable of the area and were able to direct us to many great things to do, and enjoyed sharing in conversation. Breakfast was also awsome every morning! Sally's waffles are to die for! I found after being in the area, that this is by far the best place to stay in the area. Location was awsome, between Saugatuck and Douglas with easy access to both. We loved watching the sunsets on the top deck while enjoying our beverage of choice in the hot tub! We simple couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It actually inspired me to ask my girlfriend to marry me! LOL We will be back for sure next year.

The Sea Suites is a wonderful place to stay. It is a floating bed and breakfast. Each of the four suites has it's own TV and private bathroom facilities. The top deck has a TV and a jacuzzi. The view from the top deck is magnificent! It is located in a small marina that is very quite and peaceful.
We went there planning to sight-see and shop, but ended up not wanting to leave the boat. The hosts, Sally and Pete, were very friendly and knowledable about the area. And I can't say enough about the breakfast. Homemade berry and cream waffles!!
The suites are beautiful and very comfortable. The marina has a pool that guests are allowed to use.
The Sea Suites has been rated one of the top 10 floating bed and breakfasts by Coastal Living Magazine. The pictures do not do it justice. The boat is absolutly fabulous! I have been twice now and plan to go again this summer!!

  • Liked — Being on the water and hearing the waves at night was amazing!
  • Disliked — Nothing. Everything was perfect.

My wife gave us a present for my birthday, a stay aboard the Sea Suites Boat and Breakfast. Our stay was exceptional in every way!!! From our arrival to the hospitality of the proprietors, this vactaion did not miss a trick. Friendly, communicative attending to all our needs; including great advice regarding what to do in Saugatauk. This boat and the boat people are first rate - short term memory loss what were their names?

I look forward to our next voyage aboard the Sea Suites, because when something is this good and feels so right, once is never enough. The staterooms are so clean and well equipped. Breakfast with award winning mouth-watering waffles, the bottomless coffee and endless conversation were all so very well appreciated. If you are a couple heading out for a get-a-way or if you have several couples looking to reserve a once in a lifetime experience for your group, rent out the SeaSuites and relax and enjoy.....

We were lucky enough to book our stay during Venetian weekend. Sally and Pete are wonderful hosts and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The belgian waffles with Sally's secret creme really filled us up for a day at the art show and shops. We enjoyed the wonderful shopping and food in Saugatuck and Douglas, but were enjoying the boat so much that we collaborated with all the other guests and grilled out on the top deck rather than go out. A beautiful cruise up the Kalmazoo River and into Lake Michigan on Sally and Pete's cabin cruiser was a wonderful highlight as well. The hot tub felt really good after a long day to relax before dinner. If you haven't tried the Saugatuck area before, I would highly recommend it. And why not add the experience of waking up on the water in your own private stateroom? We will be back!

While visiting the ship museum, the Keewatin, my wife and I saw a beautiful house boat down the dock. When we went to look at it we saw that it was a boat and breakfast. The owners, Pete and Sally came out to greet us and they just happened to have a room available. We took it, and it ended up being one of the best places we have ever stayed. The rooms were large and never heard any of the other guests. There is large bathrooms in each room. And on the top deck you lay in the sun during the day and soak in the hot tub at night.

Each morning we were greeted with an amazing breakfast. Homemade belgian waffles with different toppings, different cereals, and a variety of yogurt so we didn't get bored.

Best trip of the season, we've already booked for next year!

  • Liked — the breakfast, and the hot tub
  • Tips/Secrets — won't believe you're on a boat....won't get seasick, plenty of room

We have been to Sea Suites twice now. It is our favorite place to stay on vacation! Pete and Sally (the owners) are the most acccomodating hosts ever. The continental breakfast is the most delicious we've ever had. It is truly the most relaxing and enjoyable place to stay in Michigan. In fact, we visit Saugutuck just so that we can stay on this lovely houseboat, and plan to make yearly trips here and bring our families with us!

  • Liked — The relaxing atmosphere. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at ease.

What a wonderful weekend! We go to Saugatuck to shop and visit the town and at the end of the weekend we barely made it off the boat!

Not your every day bed and breakfast. The Sea Suites in Saugatuck, Michigan is on a 105' houseboat. The rooms were beautiful and each had its own bathroom. You can lie out in the sun on the top deck and use the hot tub. And in the morning we were greeted with an amazing Belgian waffle breakfast. It was the most relaxing and original experience we have had.

We recommend it and we're definitely going back.
