“Great Place to Stay!”
Reviewed 14 August 2010

Six of us stayed here while on a bicycling trip and loved every minute of it. From the time we were greeted on the deck by Pete and Sally until they waved goodbye to us when we left, we had an extremely comfortable place to stay and a great host/hostess. The staterooms are comfortable and well furnished, the hot tub on the deck is a great place to relax, and the view can't be beat. It is very quiet, yet close enough to walk to Saugatuck if you want. It is also close enough to walk to Douglas for some great restaurants and an easy ride to Douglas Beach. Pete and Sally are very hospitable. You will not regret staying here. We plan to come back sometime. And yes, the waffles are delicious!

Having traveled several continents, the Sea Suites may be the happiest accident we have found yet. A novel concept perfectly executed, Pete and Sally have seen to every detail on this immaculate craft to make it feel like your own intimate luxury hideaway.
Starting from a friendly tour of the ship, through cozy staterooms with great bedding, a spacious salon, an expansive sun deck with hot tub, and a delicious breakfast every morning, guests have all the options. A walk or lift to the beaches, an excursion into amazing and vibrant Saugatuck, or lazy days and nights aboard, the stay meets your every mood.
Most noteworthy is the warm giving hospitality of two exceptional first time innkeepers who have found their bliss and share it generously with their valued guests. You arrive a curious stranger and leave a devoted friend.

Great place to go right here in Michigan. Park your car for the weekend and walk to town rent bikes,go on a boat ride, listen to music or go fishing. There is plenty to do for all. Pete and Sally were great and we look forward to returning soon.

I am a travel agent and am telling as many people as I can how great this is!!!!! Both my husband and I had a wonderful time!!!!!

I am a 20 year veteran innkeeper and have stayed at over 100 B&Bs. Our experience at this B&B was the best ever. The idea for a boat as a B&B was unique, Pete and Sally's personalities fit perfectly the boat B&B idea, their breakfasts were simply delicious, the rooms ideal for relaxing, TV watching, and sleeping, and our two days there were just great. As others have mentioned, the location - besides being right on the water - was ideal and within walking distance of Douglas and Saugatuck a few minutes drive away. Had time to shop, eat, and get back to the boat for relaxing. The place is spotless and quiet and we definitely will make Sea Suites our destination (if we can get in) when we do our yearly trip to Michigan. Thanks for being in the innkeeping business you two. You make us proud!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a long birthday weekend to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, but there were so many great reviews I had to try it. It was fantastic! The boat was clean, fairly new, had pretty much anything you would need like a hotel would..and the owners were so friendly. Very close to downtown Saugatuck. The views at sunset are amazing, and you can enjoy from the hot tub! My boyfriend loved it, he was blown away when we pulled up. We definitely plan to visit again!

Sea Suites is a wonderful Bed (Boat) and Breakfast. Pete and Sally, the owners could not be any nicer. They gave us great recommendations on where to eat, drink and how to get around. The boat is in a great location – easy to get to the shops, beach, restaurants and bars but far enough away from everything where you can totally relax. Downtown Saugatuck is a 5 min drive or a 15 min walk (there is a great $1 shuttle that will pick you up / drop you off anywhere in Douglas or Saugatuck). We loved coming back from sightseeing and hanging out on the top deck of the boat- thanks to the Sea Suits- we had a truly relaxing holiday and cannot wait to go back.

Here are some of the highlights:
_awesome top deck with sun loungers, big Jacuzzi, and a bar and BBQ area
_spotless rooms with new bathroom fixtures and direct TV in each room
_view of the lake from your room
_great breakfasts (yogurt, eggs, yummy waffles and an endless pot of coffee)
_stellar place to view the sunset (see photos)
_8 min walk to downtown Douglas (eat at the Everyday People Café- the food is awesome)
_Red dock bar is a few docks over –we could not hear any bar noise from the boat (it closes at sundown)

What an amazing place to stay! If you are someone who enjoys life's unique Experiences, then don't stay anywhere else in Saugatuck - book this right away. You will not find better sunsets, a prettier view, a heartier welcome or a more singularly exceptional place to stay anywhere else in town.

(And if you have been to Saugatuck before, you will appreciate this - parking at the Sea Suites was never a problem)
