Coming from the Netherlands, it was very interesting for me to visit the Dutch area in Holland, Michigan.
This Beechwood Manor was a great contribution to this this experience, we had a great time there.
I really fellt like going back in time a bit, without missing out on luxury!
Great food, great bed, very cozy room and fantastic hospitality, definately worth a visit!

This is a gorgeous, historic B&B that has been lovingly restored and well-kept. Jamie and Scott make you feel simultaneously at home and spoiled, attending to any need. This really reminded me of an old English B&B where I stayed in the Cotswolds several years ago, but much more "American"-minded in terms of luxury (read: air conditioning! ;-). We stayed in their biggest room, Enid's Room, and it was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also beautiful with both a clawfoot bathtub and a shower. The bed was lush and cozy (I am not a fan of hard mattresses and for me, this mattress was perfect). I loved the little extras you could find everywhere, like the toiletry kits and basically everything you could need in the cabinet upstairs, plus the goodies in the little refreshment / snack room. We could sneak downstairs late at night and grab some drinks, chocolates & pretzels to bring up to our room and watch a movie. I loved the games & cards in all of the drawers and cupboards in the parlor. And I haven't even gotten to the breakfasts yet!! Both Jamie and Scott had previously worked in the catering business and their skills in the kitchen are really wonderful, so we were spoiled on that end, too. Delicious choices with a great assortment of side dishes. The maple pecan rolls were delightful, as was everything else. Saugatuck itself is a beautiful and artsy little community that reminds me of a Michigan version of Key West. I loved it there with its unique boutique shops and eateries. Really fun! And you can't beat hanging out at the beach on Lake Michigan. Michigan might just be the most underrated State of the Union because it offers so much for tourists. I highly recommend visiting Saugatuck and staying at the Beechwood. You won't regret it!

Looking for a getaway? This is the place to stay. We stayed in the cottage. It's a few blocks from downtown so private parking and no noise. All the comforts of home and then some. Jamie and Scott made sure we had everything we needed. Professionalism of a big hotel with the attention of the owners. Stop reading reviews, book Beechwood.

Lovely historic home in a residential area, maybe 10-15 walk to town. We really enjoyed our stay here, and Jamie is an excellent host. She manages to make you feel at home, finds out your interests, and suggests possible things to do for you in the area. Bags of beachtowels by the door for guests to use, bottle water in the pantry area, all make you feel as if you are staying in your own private home. But you don't have to cook! Scott makes wonderful breakfasts each day & both he and Jamie cooked professionally. Menus vary each day, pick between maybe 4 choices, pick your eating time. Nice to be an a residential area, very quiet, and walk into town. We would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We stayed in Ethel's room, and also peaked into the other two rooms. I think I would have been...

Comfortable rooms with all the necessary amenities ( AC, Fireplace, small TV, DVR, hair dyer , maps , etc. ) . Great breakfasts ( try the breakfast burrito or waffles ) . Inn is close to downtown Saugatuck, easily in walking distance to shops, entertainment and restaurants. Try Phil's on Butler Street, good beer selection and the best dinner we had while in Saugatuck. Jamie and Scott were always friendly and accommodating. Jamie is most knowledgeable about the area: restaurants, sights and transportation. We wish them great luck with the B & B. Might want to figure out how to improve their parking situation a little. Lovely area, definitely try to get to Oval Beach and catch a paddleboat ride.

The service was very attentive and professional, as it would be in a hotel, only with additional personal touch from the owners. Everything that was advertised was there. Great location, nice and queit, and close to the downtown at the same time

My husband and I love Saugatuck. We have both visited the town every summer at least two or three times since we were about 7 years old, mainly making the trip by boat and staying at the marinas there. We are newly married and decided this time that we wanted a mini honeymoon getaway and to stay at a bed and breakfast. After reading the many wonderful reviews about the Beechwood Manor, we decided that is where we would like to spend our romantic weekend. As soon as we arrived, we felt welcomed and comfortable. The positive reviews I had read were spot on. The owners, Jamie and Scott, were so accommodating. They made sure we had everything that we needed to have an enjoyable experience and a romantic time. The manor itself is lovely in its tucked away setting in a quiet and charming neighborhood. The room had all of the amenities we needed and the comfy bed really helped us to have a relaxing weekend. The breakfast was delicious and delivered with a smile. I would highly recommend the Beechwood Manor to anyone visiting Saugatuck.
