did not stay at the hotel. Went for the buffet. Once you enter the lobby all you can smell is cigarette smoke . The restaurant is located near the slot machines. Had to wait for server to check out customers. Once seated service was good. The buffet was run of the mill. Most of the items for dinner were sitting in sauces and did not look fresh. The white fish platter was good and the right amount of food. Upon leaving the hostess disappeared to get a carry out, Couldn't leave until her return. Not worth the wait.

Nothing special here. Small casino. They did give us $10 as new members to play. Can't complain about that but no poker games ruining. Extremely limited video poker. Good variety of slots given the space.

I wouldn't make a trip here if it were out of the way but the building and decoration is pretty nice if you're in town. It's small. But if you need a slot machine fix it'll get the job done.

The hotel could use some renovation. The carpets in the common areas and elevators is looking pretty worn and dirty. The rooms are spacious and the bedding is average. The pool is rather difficult to access for someone who is handicapped, it requires a long walk from some of the rooms to get to the elevator to it. We did not use it due to my husband's inability to walk long distances, which was a disappointment.
It is also a good hike from the hotel to the casino floor. All of the restaurants and the gift shop and the slot players club are between the hotel lobby and the casino area. There are two slot rooms which are across the hallway and down steps (or a long ramp) from each other.
The parking for the hotel is across a road plus a bridge from the entrance which also is a long walk for a handicapped person. I didn't see a valet, but they probably have one. There is a golf cart which can be used to navigate from the hotel to the casino and restaurants, but it isn't always available, or a driver isn't always readily available.
This was not our first stay here, and as I previously suggested, I don't think they are putting any of their profits back into the hotel. The rates are reasonable and you get $10.00 free play per adult per room. It isn't any worse for smoke than most casinos.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kewadin Hotel. Our suite was very large and comfortable. The spa tub is HUGE! If you join the players club, the lodging is very reasonably priced. We found the front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the kind service of Tina.
The Dream Catcher restaurant serves good specials. Ask to see the special menu which has breakfast for $1.49 and dinner specials for $6.29. Also ask to be seated in Wendy's section. She is a great waitress! The indoor pool was clean and warm. We are not gamblers so we can't evaluate the casino.

I'll start with the good. The room was nice and clean and the food at the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced with great service. The bad...the whole place smells like cigarette smoke. They allow smoking everywhere except in the restaurant that we went to. There are ashes all over the place, on the slot machines on the chairs, dirty ashtrays everywhere even in the drink cup holders. We originally booked 3 nights and after only a few hours cancelled our third night. Always wanted to go there and now we have. I doubt if we will return

We just returned from a trip to Sault Ste. Marie to enjoy both of our passions, freighter watching and casino gambling, so this hotel is perfect for us. The room was clean and very nice. The lobby areas are very open and nice also. Staff was very friendly. It is a bit of a walk to the casino. As for the casino itself, it is in dire need of new slot machines. Many are so old that the characters on the slots are faded. It may be awhile before we return for that reason only. Table games were enjoyable; we especially like that we could play blackjack for $5 minimum. We only ate one meal at the hotel, breakfast at the buffet. It was nice that you could also order off the menu. One of us had the buffet, the other ordered off the menu. In both cases, food was just ok. Location to downtown Soo and locks great.
