“A great place to visit.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

This lighthouse is well kept up, and a great place for visitors from out of town to enjoy great views of the Canadian hills, and a stroll along the sandy beach. Clean restrooms are also on site.

“72 Steps...”

Quaint lighthouse with access to the beach. Walked up the circular stairs to the top of the lighthouse. Beautiful view - was able to see windmills across the straits of Lake Superior in Canada. Ample parking and public restrooms. Nice stop to stretch our legs.

“Wonderful View!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

This is a great little trip to take while visiting the Soo, about 20 miles outside of town on Lake Superior. Nice little museum in the main house and amazing view when you climb the tower and look out. Great place to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the breeze from Lake Superior.

“Go back in time at this historic lighthouse!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2013

This lighthouse and museum is a must-do when in the Soo! The grounds are beautiful, the view from the lighthouse is amazing. The museum shows the history of the lighthouse, and a special exhibit in the basement shows how life was for the families that lived there. We enjoyed looking through the old Sears catalog from the 50's! On the day we visited (a Saturday), the person working the museum had baked sweet rolls for the visitors to eat! It is an easy climb up to the lighthouse, but the trip back down may bother people. Be sure to take the walk on the boardwalk out back for lovely water and lighthouse views!

“A step back in time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

I had not ever thought about the work involved in being the keeper of a lighthouse. Besides being a job, this lighthouse was a family home and I really enjoyed seeing the family homes and reading the history. I wish that we would have had more time there. The view from the top of the lighthouse was wonderful.
