This place is so peaceful; we just love it! The grounds are immaculately kept and a photographer's delight. The boardwalks make getting to the beach possible even for people in wheelchairs. And a walk on these beaches are just music for the soul. You'll likely see a freighter going by in the distance, and there is wildlife in the woods. The keeper dresses up in period garb and is welcoming and charming. We did not visit the museum or the light inside on this trip, but even without that, it is worth the drive from the Soo.

Such a peaceful and beautiful place to visit. Watch the ships heading to or coming from the Locks, tour the lighthouse & hear the stories. Or just have a nice picnic on the grounds.

Stopped at the Point Iroquois Light Station in Bay Mills on the way back from touring the Shipwreck Museum in Paradise. Great walk down closer to the water with benches to sit back and view the beautiful scenery. They have a small museum and gift shop. Around to the back is a replicated kitchen and living room circa 1950. You can also traverse 72 stairs to the top of the lighthouse offering a great view. Lighthouse keeper Gilley is the perfect man for the job. When we first walked in, we thought he was fake. All dressed up in white period attire, he welcomed everyone in and interacted with everyone. If the Forest Service is wise, they won't let him go. He knows Michigan like the back of his hand and knows the best places to stay, eat and visit. This lighthouse is just a couple hundred feet off of the road - you can't miss it.

Loved the scenic drive from Sault Sainte Marie to Paradise - the lighthouse is beautiful. A great stop for a picnic.

Didn't know the forest service owned any lighthouses! Happened on this one along a scenic by-way...what a treat. Nice paths down to the beach, enthusiastic attendant, self-guiding tour and chance to climb the light. Nice view from the top.
