“Fantastic attention to detail and amenities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Rabbit Run is a charming little B&B / inn. Immaculately kept. Beautiful interior and exterior design with a lot of attention to detail. The bar sink in our room had a water filter so you didn't have to buy bottled water; a nice Krups coffee maker with a good choice of coffee; a little refrigerator with jars of fresh orange juice and cream. The innkeepers leave a little basket of fruit and pastries at your door each morning so you can eat your breakfast in bed and not have to make small talk at a table with other guests like most B&Bs. The bed was plush - so comfortable. And they have Apple TVs in the room so we could watch Netflix! The amount of local information (where to eat, which beaches to go to) they provide when you check in is so wonderful -- it helps you get the most out of Harbor Country without having to spend an hour Yelping.

The only small problem was our neighbors upstairs who had two very young children who ran back and forth across the floor above us almost our entire stay. So if you do go, get one of the rooms upstairs so that isn't an issue for you.

Room Tip: Choose a room upstairs.

My husband and I recently booked a two-night stay in the Gingko Room. We were very impressed with the beautiful decor and the spotless room. I said many times that the room (and grounds) looked like they were straight from Architectural Digest and Traditional Home! It all made more sense when we discovered that Linda Jo is a professional interior decorator and we felt very lucky to have found such a perfect place to stay. (Maybe someone should tell both magazines that they need to visit and showcase Rabit Run Inn in their publications!!)

Also very impressive was the bedding -- the luxurious sheets, many pillows and super comfortable duvet -- helped me relax and unwind after a very stressful work week.

Linda Jo provided us with ample information about the area and made several recommendations for places for us to visit (even offering the use of their bicycles and making available fluffy beach towels) and restaurants to enjoy their special menu selections.

The grounds are impeccably maintained and the koi pond and gardens are beautiful, quiet and very relaxing. We enjoyed our delicious freshly-baked muffins and scones with fresh-squeezed orange juice and tea on our private deck. Believe me -- it doesn't get better that this!

Linda Jo and Rodney are perfect proprietors and should be commended for making their beautiful inn available for others to enjoy. We are planning to make it a yearly visit going forward and anticipate our next year's stay. We live near the Wisconsin/Illinois border and the travel time to/from the Inn was about 2 1/2 hours.

We highly recommend this special paradise and feel that if you are in the area, should take advantage of this beautiful retreat!

Room Tip: We loved the Gingko Room but may look at the other available rooms next time we visit.

After working in Chicago for a week my wife and I visited Sawyer. We had been recommended to stay at the Rabbit Run. An excellent choice. The service is excellent, rooms better than we could have expected and the positioning great if you are prepared to use the available bikes or use your car to get to the many interesting places nearby. We used the bikes every day and found several paths through the woods to the beach (about 10 minutes on the bike). There are several restaurants near to the accommodation. Breakfast arrives outside your room and is usually muffins and fruit. There is a great coffee machine in the room and also a fridge where jam and fresh orange juice is left. The arrival of a bottle of wine on our third day was a special local treat. We enjoyed our stay and really relaxed.

Room Tip: All rooms look good. We chose an upstairs room but I would have been equally happy downstairs

Premium quality bed and breakfast that is more a kin to a boutique hotel located in beautiful surroundings. The room was superb, great bed very comfortable with plenty of pillows and a fantastic bathroom. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast choice, which was limited. Maybe I am used to a breakfast choice when staying at similar types of accommodation in this price range and quality in Europe and what was on offer is normal in the USA.

My family stays at Rabbit Run Inn every summer. The experience of staying there is always fantastic. The breakfast is amazing, the room - very comfortable. Linda Jo and Rodney are fantastic proprietors! Warren Dunes beach is 3 minutes away. We look forward to our return this summer.

We spent a spur of the moment night at the Rabbit Run and loved it. The room was furnished in in Pottery Barn style, no fussy lace, no musty old building smell, fluffy pillows and comforter. In room real coffee/espresso maker with real coffee! Fresh cream, choice of sugars, fresh oj. Mini frig held our own refreshments. LInda Jo and Rodney supplied us with brochures for local parks, restauants, things to do. They even supplied perfect weather for us to enjoy while stilling on our private deck with our morning cup(s) of freshly brewed coffee. Warm scones and bananas were descreetly left in a wicker basket at our door. We only wished we brought our own bikes, Rabbit's are getting a little rusty. Great way to spend unwinding time!

Room Tip: We had the place to ourselves so no distractions. The birds taking advantage of the surrounding woo...

Thanks for the great review and thanks for the heads-up about the bikes;
we'll get them in for a spring tune-up.

June 23rd.... It was our very first time to a bed & breakfast. We really enjoyed it. Rodney and Linda Jo were the best hosts. The "Ginkgo" room was very comfortable and decorated beautifully!! We were there celebrating our anniversary. The property and coy pond were taken care of with a lot of love. We sat on our deck and watched and listened to all of the nature around us. The warm muffins in the "cute" wicker basket delivered to our doorstep in the morning were delicious!!! They were very helpful with suggestions on what to do, eat & see. We were very impressed and would definitely go back!!!! We hope to see them very soon!!!!
