The park is very close to where I live so my family and I try to take advantage of it as much as possible. Although there are many visitors to the trails and lake, it often seems like you are completely alone. A wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors.

I've been trying for years to see an Adult Bald Eagle . We've made several trips this winter to Algonac State Park and have been very fortunate to see Eagles on each of our trips.
This past weekend we were once again very luck and saw a Bald Eagle at Stoney Creek...While we weren't able to see the nest, as we were leaving the area, we noticed a beautiful Bald Eagle and I was able to get some great shots of this magnificent bird......

Have been to Stony Creek Metropark, many times throughout my life. It is a wonderful place to exercise/recreation--bike on trails or Mt. bike, run/walk, boat, sail, Cross-Country Ski, sled, and have family gatherings. It is a true GEM. Good for fishing...no hunting please! Entry Fee/park pass is worth it!

Up North, but in the Metro area. A great park for outdoor recreation of many types. Beaches, woods, trails, bike paths, sailing, golf, canoeing, fishing, etc.

It is NOT IN THE MAIN PARK! Drive north on Mound from 26 Mile Rd. After 29 Mile Rd. About half mile down there will be a road on the left called INWOOD RD......TURN LEFT (IGNORE ALL THE ROAD CLOSED SIGNS!) Drive for approx 1 mile after the bridge and then on the right side will be INWOOD PARK. Go to the map and follow path A to B then B to C. Once you get to C you will see a large swamp in front of you. Make a right at C and walk halk way around the pound.WHEN YOU GET NEAR HALF WAY LOOK UP TO THE RIGHT FAR BEHIND THE TREES IN FRONT OF YOU AND THERE YOU WILL SEE THE NEST UPON A 70 FT TALL WHITE PINE! Then take the boardwalk on the pond to the end and look back at the dead trees in the distance.....the eagles will fly into these trees. BE PREPARED TO STAY AN HOUR OR 2 UNTIL YOU SEE AMERICA's MOST BEAUTIFUL BIRD!
