Most places in the U.P. prey on tourists with promises of Pasty's, but they are mostly bad dough wrapped around potatoes. at the Bear Trap though, you will get an authentic dough, lots of rutabaga, and great spiced beef. they make them by hand every morning. On top of that, the burgers are also awesome. If you eat one Pasty in the U.P. make it from the Bear trap!

You feel part of the community when you stop in here on your way through the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There is a nice mix of "visitors" and "regulars" and the regulars are truly friendly folks. Don't expect a five star luxury supper club experience - but the folks here are friendly and serious about service - our appetizer was a little long in arriving - and the waitress gave us a refill on our drinks at no charge! The food is typical bar/grill food - and we found it to be good. As another reviewer mentioned - it has dollar bills and stuffed animals on the wall - don't be bothered by either - but do be fascinated with them! I will keep going to this spot as long as I am traveling to this area. It makes me smile!

This was a very nice place to eat on the way in or out of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The Salad Bar was average, but it was not bad at all. The Fish Fry was good....the fish tasted fresh. I would recommend this restaurant.

I believe these are the best pasties that I have ever had. The restaurant is covered with taxidermy so if that bothers you just get them to go. They are a complete meal. If you have ever had a pastie you will agree these are great ones. If you haven't....these are the best ones to try. Worth stopping if you are in the area.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Bear Trap Inn. The food was great! The service was excellent and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. She was able to recommend some fun things to do in the town and even other customers in the bar were very friendly. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
