I had the pan-fried perch dinner with fries and cole slaw. My dinner companion had the pork chop with a cider glaze which looked like something Fred Flintstone would have (huge!) and we shared the whitefish and artichoke appetizer which came warm with good bread. Both entrees were about $18/19 which seemed a little pricey, but we both enjoyed what we ordered. Service was long but we were gabbing so it didn't matter to us. Service could have been a bit less intrusive, but our server was very pleasant. We sat at a booth and the plain wooden seats were very hard and cold, but I liked the wall mural and decor and woud go there again for perch and that artichoke dip.

Had not visited for a few years: big changes. No more chalk board art with the on-tap beers, many attempts to make it upscale, but not quite hitting the mark. Menu options were not to our tastes: had always had trouble making decisions, this time there was pretty much only one thing each of us would order: Whitefish and chips, Perch pan fried & deep fried, and perch sandwich. All fish and chips were plentiful (took home leftovers) and absolutely delicious and made it worth the visit, but the wait staff seemed to lack knowledge about basic facts: basic information on the house wines and the craft beers on tap. Service was also not very attentive, although they were busier than they had expected, but was not packed. We will be looking for another location to eat when in South Haven.

The food tasted fresh and was prepared well, but the service was slow and inattentive. Long wait for our check at the end of the meal.

Oyster bar was both entertaining and delicious. Oysters shucked while-you-watch. Most restaurants served sub-par Blue Points but Thirsty Perch serves three types of fresh oysters, inspected and shucked on the spot. Many less experienced oyster bars don't know how to check for bad ones and serve them anyways. Great service, acceptable prices and good, causal atmosphere.

Very disappointed in the food offered. The restaurant had been recommended by our B&B innkeeper but would not return.
The menu was a bit limited in choices. OK, if you are only interested in fish dinners but even then, I felt the menus were a bit uninspiring.
My wife had never tried perch before and after having theirs said "guess that was an experiment gone wrong". I had decided on one of their hamburgers with blue cheese topping. The burger was good but I felt it was a bit over priced for the quality I received. The fries that came with the burger were not crisp, mushy and not fully cooked, plus they tasted a bit fishy, as if they had been cooked in the same oil as the fish.
The service was good but the place was virtually empty when we arrived at 7:30 pm, which should have told us something, right from the start.
We would recommend passing this restaurant by and go to either a Subway or a McDonald's instead.
