Took the "Misses" here for our Babymoon (last trip before welcoming our first child) and this was a great experience ! Judine was nothing short of a great hostess. She has a kind heart and genuinely seems to care about her guests and their experience at this wonderful Inn. We finally got to meet her husband at the end of our stay and he was equally as welcoming and nice as Judine.

The room we stayed in , Moritz Suite, was clean, spacious, accommodating and bright! There was a nice flat panel TV in the room along with a DVD player if you choose to bring your own movies along. WIFI internet access was also available.. hit or miss at times with coverage but who comes here to be on the internet all day anyway?!

Breakfast was always served on time and was delicious! I will take a home cooked breakfast over any hotel food any day! The common areas of the house were all nicely decorated and bright. There is a small fridge available for your use and is always stocked with free water and coke products for those thirsty evenings. There is even free popcorn for a late night snack along with Tea and Coffee.

Judine really has the recipe for making this a wonderful stay for any couple who is looking to get away from all the noise of the city but still be close to everything. There is no question that this is a place we would recommend and stay at in some future stay!

If I could make one suggestion, it would be to place some kind if nightstands next to the bed for charging cell phones or putting down your book or PC. Other then that, Judine, there is nothing that I would change about the way you do things! You were so welcoming and such pleasant company that we wish we could have stayed a couple extra days! We wish you and your husband nothing but success and hope to see you in the not to distant future!

P.S This appears to be a couples retreat ... but call Judine if you have a young one you would like to bring along, we were told something might be able to worked out ;)
That's a big BONUS for future stays seeing our baby is on the way soon!

Thanks Judine and much Success!

P.S for those planning a trip to South Haven, after Labor Day seems to be a great time to visit. Still warm enough to be out and about and the crowds are greatly diminished. Not to mention everyone is in full harvest around this time and there are wonderful apples to go pick and dazzling colors to go see...get out there!

My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable week-end on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Black River Inn. The owners Bob and Judine enhanced the experience with a beautifully kept B&B , great breakfasts, and enjoyable conversation . We particularly enjoyed biking into South Haven on a nearby easily accessible trail right along the river. We look forward to our next visit .

My husband and I stayed at the Black River Inn just last weekend. We had such a great stay. This b&b is away from the city, but still only 5 minutes away from town and the beech. There is also a raspberry farm just a minute away from the b&b, we loved that. Bob and Judine were excellent. They made us feel at home from the start. Always snacks, and the homemade breakfast was awesome! The whole place is perfect inside and out. Very clean, lighted gazebo to sit at night (the stars are AMAZING), and the hot tub was so relaxing. You can tell their heart and soul went in to every detail of this wonderful inn :) Definitely will be returning

Review is long overdue...we stayed in July 2012 for just the night of our wedding before heading out on our honeymoon, and the place was wonderful. Just outside of town, and very peaceful. Room was perfect (Jacuzzi room), and the breakfast was amazing, also! We plan to make a trip back for one of our anniversaries in the future!

This is an awesome B & B experience! Bob & Judine are excellent innkeepers. They are fun, friendly, and go above & beyond. We stayed 2 nights. Loved the spa tub and super good breakfasts. What a great treat to be offered snacks & beverages throughout the day. We will be back next time we go to South Haven!

The Black River Inn is down a nice, quiet road - a quick drive into town but far enough away from the noise. Judine and Bob are such warm and welcoming hosts. We felt like we were staying with family! There were snacks and drinks available all day (Judine even gave me the recipe for one of her snacks to use at my daughter's bridal shower).

We generally stay at B & B's and this was, by far, one of the best. The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. Judine and Bob even had DVD's of current movies available! And the breakfasts were incredible. Plenty of great food and even greater conversations. We were lucky enough to enjoy sharing both breakfasts with another couple, Landy and Stephen.

Judine and Bob were very knowledgeable with tips on where to find dinner, local breweries, wineries, farmer's markets, hiking and other things to do locally. We're hoping to make this an annual/biannual trip!
