“A secret gem in Ayrshire”

Stayed at the Golden Crown as part of a hen party. We booked it as we loved the idea of having everything catered for so we could focus on pampering our hen. The venue is in a small village outside Ayr. We hadn't heard of it before but it was really easy to get too and plenty of free parking.
There was a steam room with colour changing lights, sauna and hot tub which was a big selling point for us too. Bedrooms are all quite similar in style. Very modern, clean and fresh. Comfy mattresses and pillows ensured a great nights sleep.
Bathrooms are plentiful. All designed in the same way with Molton Brown toiletries supplied. Lots of cheeky features on the walls, mirrors in shape of lips etc. Really funky.
There is an outside area to the back of the property and there was 3 picnic style tables there with parasols. Weather was good so we got to enjoy outside but they do require you inside by 10pm, understandable really. We were ready to come in anyway before being eaten alive by midgies.
Catering was fantastic. Nice buffet on the Friday , breakfast even had warm croissants straight from oven. Heaven! Afternoon tea was delicious as was the 6 course meal. Really friendly down to earth staff.

Wifi was only really working in the dining room . Loads of glasses - wine, martini, cocktail shakers etc. polycarbon glasses for hot tub. Home cinema was in the lounge with plenty of girly DVDs. They really have thought of everything!

I would highly recommend this place for birthdays, hens etc.
