“A real gem!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2012

My daughtert was visiting from Louisana with another couple and wanted to find a place near Traverse City. She went on-line and found a cabin to rent for 1/2 price. They stayed two days and felt the place was perfect for what they wanted. They did kayak and use the beach to relax. It was in a quite location . I did send linens and towels with them as it was a cabin.

“No better place to raise kids!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2012

All of Traverse is beautiful, but as a Real Estate sales person, I love the East side because it is full of natural beauty. We have no big box stores ,but plenty of water and tree's ! Spider Lake is a all sports lake just minutes from downtown Traverse City and all Grand Traverse area activities, yet you feel like your back in the 50's and everyone knows your name. Great schools too!

“Spider Lake is the place to be in TC”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2012

I live on Spider Lake and consider it one of the best lakes in the Grand Traverse area. It has 450 acres of spring fed crystal clear water and is deep enough for great boating, but shallow enough to get warm early in the season for swimming. Spider Lake is a very scenic lake, surrounded by woods. It has five islands, one of them a public DNR island with a large sand bar. There are numerous coves and inlets for exploring and fishing. The lake is an all sports lake, but has a slow speed curfew in the morning and evening. There is a nice boat launch off of Grace Drive (accessed from E Arbutus Lake Road) with a dock and two launches and plenty of parking. The fishing is good, with lots of medium sized bass and some nice pike.

Spider Lake is about 10 miles from downtown Traverse City and is about 5 miles from East Bay.

“Spider Lake is really neat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2011

My father in law has a cottage by Spider Lake. One great thing about Spider Lake is that is is kind of shaped like a spider (of course- that is one reason why it is called that) so there are many hidden and quiet spots to hang out on this lake. The fishing on this lake is great. If there is one area that does not have many fish, no need to worry because there are many other great fishing areas on this lake. What I like about Spider Lake is that there are many directions you can go. There are a lot of rental's you can choose from. This lake is only 10-15 minutes at most away from Traverse City and the beautiful Lake Michigan. This is a great place to vacation because it is very peaceful and beautiful with all the Northern Trees. There is a great pizza place about 3-7minutes away depending on what direction your coming from Spider Lake. It is called Peegeo's and they have excellent PIZZA!!!
