The 2 hour adventure was the highlight of our trip to Traverse City. We are so grateful to the crew, they go out of their way to make you comfortable. The Captain, First Mate, Second Mate and deck hand are so willing to share their knowledge of the Bay. If you don't take advantage of a Tall Ship experience you will regret it. The Manitou is such a wonderful ship. The crew makes sure you have a fabulous time. We are planning an overnight adventure when we return.

Though advance reservations are highly recommended, we decided to take our chances on doing this sail last minute. We scored the last two tickets for the noon sail at about 10:30 am. It was a perfect day, just enough clouds to keep us from getting baked in the sun and smooth sailing the whole time. The ticket office staff, captain and all the crew were outstanding! Especially impressed by Devon who was not only very personable and informative but also went out in a small dinghy to retrieve a toddler's Thomas the Train hat that had gone overboard! Alyssa was friendly and capable. It was interesting to be able to walk around and into the quarters below deck. Very nice that we were allowed to take our own picnic lunch, and that drinks offered on board were not overpriced. The only thing i had hoped for was a little history of these types of boats, as they are replicas of historic vessels. A bit of comment on the Travese Bay area would also have been good.

We went on an evening cruise of the bay. Mind you, you don't go far but it's still a great experience. The crew is fun and entertaining and you can participate if you'd like. If you're looking to do the wine cruise or beer tasting in the summer beware that they book up fast. I would most definitely recommend the Tall Ship Manitou!

It was a windy evening so I was really looking forward to a nice ride in the bay but it turned out to be a ride that zigzagged from one side of the bay to the other side without really going up /down along the sides of the day. I guess I was under the impression that the ship would actually go somewhere. The ship was full 50+ and it took a while for the luke-warm pizza to be available. The micro-brew sampling was OK, with samples more considerable than the 1 oz. tasting at the wineries. However we really appreciated the interaction of the crew and the ability to tour the lower part of the ship.

This is something as a local that I do very year. I waited for the wind to be howling as this is the best time to be on this boat! Once again the crew and staff were outstanding!
