The hotel was nice. We rode our bikes up (motorcycles) so the scenery was fantastic. When we arrived we were greeted by Bruce, who showed us the hotel. It was great and very interesting to get a knowelegeable guide to the history of the Inn. It made our stay much more enjoyable. My husband and I loved looking at the furniture and items that are around the hotel from the period. We had a nice afternoon visiting the lighthouse, walking down to the beach, and just relaxing on the rocking chairs on the front porch. If we had stayed a bit longer we would have tried out the Hammocks. My husband was eyeing them. Truthfully so was I. We had dinner at one of the local restaurants. Angie at the hotel has an array of menus so you can be sure to find a place to dine that fits your tastes. We were looking for a place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of bumper to bumper cars and honking horns and the like and we found it. A nice peaceful place to stay with plenty to do. If we head back over to the Traverse City region we will definately look up Bruce and Angie at the Old Mission Inn.
PS... we had a nice breakfast downstairs the next morning. Unlike a lot of places you have a window of time to have breakfast that wil be sure to work for you. Their son took our order and brought our plates. He was a pleansant young man we enjoyed talking to him.
We had a great time. I would like to give them a big thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
