The hotel was nice. We rode our bikes up (motorcycles) so the scenery was fantastic. When we arrived we were greeted by Bruce, who showed us the hotel. It was great and very interesting to get a knowelegeable guide to the history of the Inn. It made our stay much more enjoyable. My husband and I loved looking at the furniture and items that are around the hotel from the period. We had a nice afternoon visiting the lighthouse, walking down to the beach, and just relaxing on the rocking chairs on the front porch. If we had stayed a bit longer we would have tried out the Hammocks. My husband was eyeing them. Truthfully so was I. We had dinner at one of the local restaurants. Angie at the hotel has an array of menus so you can be sure to find a place to dine that fits your tastes. We were looking for a place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of bumper to bumper cars and honking horns and the like and we found it. A nice peaceful place to stay with plenty to do. If we head back over to the Traverse City region we will definately look up Bruce and Angie at the Old Mission Inn.

PS... we had a nice breakfast downstairs the next morning. Unlike a lot of places you have a window of time to have breakfast that wil be sure to work for you. Their son took our order and brought our plates. He was a pleansant young man we enjoyed talking to him.

We had a great time. I would like to give them a big thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

We had a great 2-night stay at the Old Mission Inn. Bruce and Angie Jenson did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and satisfying. The Inn was in great shape. The 1869 rooms are small, although the suites are probably larger, so it is helpful to travel light.

Imagine staying at an inn first serving guests in 1869 and being hosted by owners intent on furnishing it with period furniture and fixtures. Pair this with the innkeeper's exhaustive research into the history of the inn and you are set for an enjoyable step back in time. We truly enjoyed a comfortable stay, good conversation with interesting guests and a hearty breakfast each day. We'll be back!

I was looking for a relaxing short trip with my husband. The Old Mission Inn delivered this and much more. Bruce and Angie, the owners, are wonderful. Friendly, interested - the ideal hosts. They have put a lot of time, effort and money into making this wonderful location a tribute to its history. When we arrived, Bruce took us on a tour of the inn - it is most interesting. We spent the evening walking along the shore of the East Bay and rocking on the chairs on the deck. We stayed in the Cherry suite and it was wonderfully authentic. We will definitely be back with friends and/or family.

I really enjoyed my stay at Old Mission. It was quite different than any excursion I had ever taken. The countryside was breathtaking, the ride very peaceful and the innkeeper's, Angie and Bruce were some of the most hardworking, friendly people I'd ever met. I also enjoyed many wonderful conversations with various guests who were passing through. Overall, it was very relaxing and that's just what the doctor ordered!
