“Expensive but beautiful rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

We really liked this hotel. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Staff was extremely friendly. We didn't use the pool, and we didn't eat here. Extremely clean in both the rooms and common areas.

My husband had business in a nearby town and I spent two days inside this hotel as it was too cold for riding the bus and sightseeing. The Cambria has basically turned regular hotel rooms into suites by adding a wall close to the bed and squeezing a lounge area between the bathroom and the new wall. (In all fairness, the décor is modern and beautiful. The photos on the website are accurate. ) The tiny closet is tucked into the new wall in the bedroom so tightly that we could not get the door fully open because the nightstand was in the way. The sink, toilet and shower are all in a single room, which was lovely but awkward for several reasons: It's very small so there was no place to store my large cosmetics bag. The bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, and bath mat were in four different places. We did not care for the vessel-style sink mostly because it took so much room that it left little countertop space, although it looked stylish. The bathtub has been replaced by a huge shower area. The desk is located in the lounge area of the room and is spacious, with all the hookups you could ever want for electronics. We usually do not unpack our suitcases and just live out of them, but for us there was not enough empty surface area in this room except the floor. We did not have a noise issue as others on this site have mentioned, except we could hear hallway noises. As to the staff we only had contact with the front desk and housekeeping. The guy at the front desk was especially nice, friendly and helpful. Housekeeping workers were just OK as far as interaction but the room was spotless. Workout room and pool were nice and clean although at my gym there are bottles of spray cleaner around to wipe down the machines after use and I couldn't find any. We didn't think much of the location. It's on a busy street that is hard to get onto during the day, and there is no view. There is an excellent business area in the lobby with late-model computers and free copies. The lobby is gorgeous. There is a pretty fireplace and ample seating. I ate two breakfasts in the restaurant for $8.95, a tad expensive when comparing to some free breakfasts at other hotels except that they make delicious omelets to order in addition to a buffet; no waffle maker which didn't matter to me but just sayin'. I think for business travelers traveling solo this would be a great hotel, but for me it was not ideal.

Green Features: There is a sign on the bed giving you the option to use towels and bedding more than once.

Beautiful rooms! Unfortunately this trip was not for pleasure. When we travel to TC for fun we will stay again! Fortunately this time of year the rates are very reasonable, I'm sure during the fall and summer this may not be the case. However for a 1 or 2 day stay it would be worth it.

Room Tip: We stayed in room with two double beds with a Keurig coffee machine and living area

Super modern room with various tech hookups I've never seen in ANY hotel room. Wifi with out email collecting login...
Place is made for biz traveler but convenient location for family too.
Bathroom/shower is like guest bath in a million dollar home.

This upscale chain motel is in an area which abounds with resorts. It gives the visitor, especially the business visitor, a chance to experience the beauty of the area without the cost of the resort. The rooms are configured like luxury suites; there is an upscale restaurant and bar on site; and the lobby is as modern as it gets. Staff are very knowledgeable of the area and there is much to see and enjoy. By the way, there is a free shuttle to and from the airport and around town which was a big plus on snowy, cold days!

We only stayed one night but it was wonderful. Rooms were beautiful with a separate living room area from the sleeping area. Large spacious bathrooms, huge closet. Fridge, microwave, inroom coffee provided in a little nook off the living area. Beds were extremely comfortable, could have slept for another few hours. Breakfast buffet with cooked to order eggs and omlets was great and reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay for 1 night or a week.

My wife and I stayed at the Cambria Suites in Traverse City after being at a conference in the area. On arrival, we were greeted by the nicest front desk staff I think I have ever encountered. They were polite and very informative. They even offered to drive us to any local restaurant for dinner in the Cambria van!
The room was beautiful. Having free wifi is definitely a plus too. Got a lot done.
We stopped by the bar in the evening and we were greeted with a pleasant and attentive bartender. Perfect!
I highly recommend the Cambria Suites in Traverse City. This is a great place to stay.
