Very disappointed. Visited for the Divas Uncorked Tour with a group of 10. This was our first stop. They employees were very confused about the tour and what we were supposed to do. They didn't even take our tickets. We were directed to the bar, where the bartender didn't even know what the Divas Tour was for. They shuffled us back to a corner where we were offered one wine sample, all of the other wineries offered 4 or more. We asked what the food sample was and the employee told us it was a piece of bread with some cucumbers on it. Um, what? We got out of here as quick as we could thanks to our wine tour driver and made it to the other wineries where we enjoyed excellent service.

Hello,

Our most sincere apologies for the experience during your tour. It certainly sounds like our ducks were not in a row prior to starting the event that night, something that is not excusable. My only interpretation is that we have recently hired a slew of new staff for the season and they had not all yet been given training on special events.

The food pairing you were provided was described on a sheet next to the station - obviously the staff member did not yet read this. It read, "Prosciutto & Cucumber with Tomato Cream Cheese Canapé." It's clear your server did not recognize the other elements past cucumber and bread. This was a pairing chosen by our winemaker, recently discovered on his recent trip to Germany where he experienced this combination as a winning pairing for Riesling.

As part of the event, each winery is instructed to serve 1.5 ounces of wine. It's up to the winery whether to split that into multiple smaller pours, or to serve 1.5 ounces of one wine. We will certainly take this feedback into consideration next year and offer more variety, in lesser amounts.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback, this will serve to improve our guest experience.

Chateau Chantal is located at the top of a scenic hill. The patio provides a terrific view while enjoying a glass of wine. I enjoyed the tasting room for sampling.

Beautiful view, but this place definitely focused on quantity over quality. Everything we tasted was very dry with a charcoal aftertaste, even when the wine was meant to be sweet. It's a tell when the tasting room is full and moving people in and out, while the register is completely empty.

Hello,
I'm very sorry to hear that your experience with us was not to your liking. I'm not certain what would have caused a charcoal taste in our wines. While we do make some dry wines, the majority of our list falls into the semi-dry and sweet categories with between 1%-6% residual sugar. We do pride ourselves on offering a wide selection of wines, something to please a diverse array of palates. I'm sorry you weren't able to find something pleasing. Perhaps next vintage!
Cheers,
Marie-Chantal Dalese

We loved this winery! We were welcomed from the moment we stepped inside. Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we had. There was a big selection of wine to choose from which made it hard to decide which ones to get. We will definitely go back there on our next trip to this area. It's a beautiful winery too with the view.

During our trip to Traverse City we went to this Winery and thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting. The location is beautiful - way up on a hill overlooking bays of Lake Michigan on both sides. Everyone was gracious and of course we bought some wine! There is a small fee for the wine tasting, but definitely worth it. When the weather allows, there is a outdoor terrace you can take out a small plate of cheese (and other similar treats) and enjoy the view with your glass of wine.
