“Wonderful wines in a beautiful setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

We just visited this winery today - we traveled from Glen Arbor, MI and it was definitely worth the drive up the Mission Peninisula, passing other wineries along the way. This winery is situated high atop a bluff and boasts a beautiful 360-degree view of both bays from its rooftop patio. There is a wide variety of wines to taste, and although I'm not a wine drinker, I couldn't fight the temptation to try the Naughty White and the Late Harvest Riesling. Both were excellent and served in a nice little wine glass with the winery's logo on one side and the great lakes on the other. We purchased our glasses for $1 each. Nice.
I ended up purchasing a bottle of Late Harvest Riesling for $16 - a very reasonable price.
Definitely a must-visit winery!

“Wine and lighthouse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

If you are heading to see the Old Mission light house that is north of Traverse City then stop a the Chateau Chantal winery. They even have a bed and breakfast on site if you want something a bit different. They have a very nice wine tasting room which for $3 you can taste 6 wines. Save the receipt if you buy a wine they will apply it toward your purchase. Grab a wine and head to the lighthouse to enjoy northern Michigan.

“Great wines and views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014

The views from this winery are superb. Gently rolling hills, vine covered, surround the pavilion. Wine tasting is aided by a wine list with the correct progression of wines. Take the tour of the winery itself and learn the history of the areas wine culture. It is also a bed and breakfast with separate theme named rooms.

“Wine pairing dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed their 7 course wine-paired dinner this evening. The beginning started out iffy when we had no idea where to check in, but we were quickly greeted by Mike in the wine tasting area and told to browse for another 10 minutes before the wine tour would begin. The tour was a quick walk through of the facilities, but seeing the large vats was a treat. We sat at a table for 6, and had plenty of room to feel at ease. Each dish was well prepared and the wine was well paired. I prefer red wine (only one was red, a Pinot noir), but the white brought out flavors I would have missed with a white. You can't beat the price ($75/pp for wine, 7 courses, and gratuity), especially when the menu included salmon, lamb, pork tenderloin, and beef sirloin (all so tender that we used butter knives) paired with local/seasonal veggies/fruits. We will most definitely dine again.

“Totally indifferent staff, mediocre wine”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

This was the worst winery visit I'd had I years. The person serving us clearly had no interest in us or what she was doing. Questions weren't answered, no communication was established, and no connection made with the place at all. The wines themselves were a mixed bag. Most were just so-so, a few average. Only one thing stood out as excellent, and that was the Cherry Eau-de-vie. I highly recommend skipping this winery.
