We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary weekend. We live just north of here and found a nice deal for a couple nights. We booked a suite and they put us in the honeymoon suite. It was just OK. Nothing special. The room faced the parking lot and had a hot tub in the room. The fridge was nice. The continental breakfast was average, nothing special. We enjoyed our time in Traverse City. It was cold so we didn't get to use the beach at all. Beautiful beach area behind.

Room Tip: book a room on the Lake Michigan side so you can enjoy the view

Great beach, we got our balcony facing the beach, and my parents loved it. They sat on it all the time, when they had enough of being in the sun.

Only 4 cabana's this year. They could use some more, as people love to lay in them. They also have lots of loungers and Muskoka chairs. They have beach towels for you to use and lockers I believe as well.

Great beach, great water, have been here many times! Definitely my favourite hotel in Traverse City.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights recently. Staff was friendly when we arrived. We were checked in promptly and our questions regarding area shopping and restaurants were answered and we were given wonderful suggestions. We had a room with a king bed and jacuzzi. The room was nice and clean. The hotel was very quiet, but I must add that there weren't many guests the two nights we stayed. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the breakfast. Standard fare of cereal, bagels, toast, waffles, etc. I have stayed in hotels in this area with similar room prices and had a much better and larger selection for breakfast. We were able to take advantage of the beach because of the the time of year, but I am sure that during the summer this would be a great place to escape to for a beach vacation. We would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: A room facing the bay would be a great choice.

My husband and I just returned from spending 2 nights at the Sugar Beach Resort. We found it to be wonderful! It was quiet and very welcoming. The room/view was very nice and we found it very relaxing. We would definitely go back in a heartbeat! Thank you.

We are staying here for the weekend to visit family in the Traverse City area, room 114. I've stayed at this hotel once before during mid week in May, not a bad stay. This time it's on the weekend. If you want a nice quiet place to stay on the weekend this is not it. There are a tremendous amount of children here and the parents just let them run loose, how rude. Nothing against kids but the parents should supervise them. It's a nice clean hotel and the staff is pleasant. Morning breakfast is a ZOO with all of the kids cutting in front of you making a mess of the breakfast bar. Again the parents just sit back and let little Johnny do whatever he wants. The hotel is right on the east bay off of the water and I can see why people flock to it. We're a senior couple and will seek somewhere else to stay next time we're in the area.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room choose the top floor away from the stairwells and elevators. You still mig...

Room was huge, we went as two couples. Free shuttle to casino rocked. Pool was small but nice. Ive stayed 3 times. I will stay again. Family friendly as well. Close to attractions but not walking distance to downtown.

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend. Everything about our stay was great. The staff and service was excellent, Jamie greeted us at the front desk when we checked in. She is very polite, knowledgeable and willing to help. She made a few calls to local wineries to check on road conditions and hours due to a snow storm that weekend.
The breakfast overlooking the bay was also great.
We will definitely stay at this hotel on each of our return trips to the area.
