“Trails in the snow”

When we were there the trails were still snow covered so it was so peaceful and quiet that the walking was like be away from everything!

“I went for a nice hike behind the camp grounds.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2014

I always like to hit the bike and hiking trails in my travels. In Traverse City we were staying at the Quality Inn on the east bay and the trail is just behind, paralleling the railroad tracks, so it is very flat between 3 mile Rd and 5 mile Rd.

What's nice about urban trails is #1 asphalt paving. I wished I had my bicycle. Another thing: along the trail there is a back entrance to a deli where I got the best smoked whitefish, and there is a sign that says "Campstore this Way", like a billboard along the trail. Neat!

Like I said, this is an urban setting. Recreation in broad daylight is preferred. Along the way you will pass the State Park Camping grounds, motels, car lots, apartment complexes, weedy lots, culverts, streams, swampland, squirrels and stray dogs.

It wasn't at all crowded on the day I was out there just after lunchtime on a weekday.

Enjoy!

“Tart Trail was lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013

The trail was lovely. My daughter is not much of a bike rider but even she enjoyed the scenery and the ease to the trail. We went in mid fall so the colors were in full bloom so the colors were just delightful.
