“Great service and atmosphere!”
Reviewed 15 August 2014 via mobile

Boone's is still a go to restaurant when in Traverse City. We went for a large family gathering (22 people) and the service was excellent. The beer and wine choices are extensive and high quality. The patio is a great place to chill out after the meal.

What holds back the rating from excellent is that the food is good, but not great. My steak was somewhat dry and bland. I had to go to the steak sauce which I would never do with a high quality steak. But our overall group was pleased with their meals so this is still a very good choice when in TC.

“Perfect vacation dining!!”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Loved this place! We sat out on the deck. Comfortable furniture, beautiful woodsie views, and fun live summer music. Food was good too! Nice variety on the menu!

“Getting old and reputation is shrinking”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Old time favorites is losing is past reputation and ambience. Staying with the old dreary, dark motif is showing like they are milking the establishment and NEEDS updating with the upscale colors, arrangements, chairs ETC.

ordered 2 porterhouse ($32) and a filet ($35). the porterhouse was was just an average steak with a sirloin steak tuffness. the filet was overdone and the replacement was under cooked and had a taste that it was yesterdays steak

Extremely disappointed. we invited others ( group of 8) to join us as we raved about the place. al were unimpressed and probably will not return when in TC :(

“Overrated/Overpriced!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

We visited Boone's Long Lake Inn due its proximity to our cottage and the fact that they have a nice outdoor deck with great live music. Unfortunately, the food and the exorbitant prices don't match the ambiance. We ordered drinks,
wine served in cheap plastic wine glasses, barely filled halfway, and dinner. Each if us ordered a different type of beef- filet, ribeye and NY strip and each one was over cooked and dry. A total disappointment especially considering the price! To make matters worse, dinner salads consisted of iceberg lettuce, a couple of grape tomatoes and onion - nothing to write home about- and baked potatoes were small and barely cooked through. Overall I would call this a major FAIL!! Food was no better than a Ponderosa at Ruth'a Chris pricing! This is not our first time here - we knew what to expect - large quantities of sub-standard food- but had hoped things had changed. Sadly it hasn't. We won't be going back.

“The best prime rib in Michigan!!!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

This place was recommended by the hotel staff as a "local's favorite". The special the night we were there was $5.00 off all prime rib dinners. We thought we would try the prime rib specials and WOW----this was some of the best prime rib I have ever had anywhere!!! All dinners come with soup or salad, hot bread, potato and the prime rib. If you like prime rib, this is a place you must visit if in the area. It is also a large restaurant so if you have a larger party, this is a place to consider.
