We stayed here from January 31st to February 3rd, Friday to Monday, and could it could not have been better! There were 7 of us and we had the "Blue Spruce" room with the lock off suite. The rooms looked exactly like the pictures and had everything in them as the website described. The location is really great because it is just down the road from downtown traverse city, and there are restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores basically across the street. You would never know it though because you will be looking at the AMAZING view of the lake the whole time - it's impressive!! The purpose of our trip was actually to go snowmobiling and we wanted a nicer place to stay for the kids during the day. It was like we were renting a condo - perfect for them! There is a snowmobile rental straight down the road across for the hotel and TONS of parking lots and drop off points for the snowmobiles that we brought up. All within about 5 or 10 minutes... could not have been better!! If you want to drive a little bit farther there are plenty of spots to park and off load right onto the trails. We will absolutely be back.... hopefully soon!

Room Tip: The Blue Spruce room was pretty spacious. We had a couple with no kids in the lock off suite and th...

My week included family for part along with some very welcome alone time. This beautiful, warm and cozy location will leave you wanting to book a return date before you leave. Everything you need is there, just pack your personals and you're ready to enjoy some down time. From the friendly welcome you receive upon entering the gorgeous rustic large wood doors to the first view of the spacious and attractively furnished rooms you'll be hooked.

Traverse City offers many attractions even this time of year with the "Winter Warm Up" wine tour on the peninsula to unique shops and restaurants downtown, and skiing, snowboarding and tubing just around the corner. If you would rather not go out, you can view the beautiful bay from your sofa in front of the fireplace, read a good book, choose a movie from their extensive collection; or enjoy a good basketball game on the 70" screen in the welcoming cozy lobby area with a good friend. Remember your slippers as you'll feel very comfortable wearing them throughout the lodge, especially when going for your morning coffee and afternoon fresh baked cookies.

I have traveled northern Michigan staying many different places and my favorite is The Tamarack!

Room Tip: Every room has beautiful views of the bay. Check out their website which is very up to date in offer...

My husband and I recently stayed for two nights in a large one-bedroom unit. The view, spaciousness, cleanliness, and decor are second to none. We have stayed elsewhere at several very nice facilities in Traverse City but this tops them all hands-down. The moment you walk in the front door of Tamarack Lodge, you'll feel welcomed and at home. The only "problem" with Tamarack Lodge is that it's so nice, you won't want to leave your room! Sitting in front of a cozy fireplace with spectacular views just a glance away made for the most relaxing weekend ever. We are already making plans to return.

Room Tip: A large one-bedroom (Pine Cone) offers water views from both the living room and bedroom while the s...

We went with the family during Christmas, and rented a two-bedroom and a one bedroom unit. The cleanliness and top quality furnishings and appliances were impressive. The large unit was a perfect gathering place for our large group. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The views of the bay were perfect in each of the rooms, even though we were on opposite sides of the building. We would definitely stay at Tamarack Lodge again.

Enjoyed a very nice 3-Nights in Traverse City, Mi. Just happen to finally get a chance to stay at Tamarack Lodge and we really enjoyed every minute.

2-Couples and we picked The "ASPEN" and the room provided ample space and more. Each of the rooms provide privacy if needed and the Living-room is comfortable to enjoy some down time to just kick back and relax. The view from the balcony is wonderful looking out directly in to the Eastern Bay with sandy beach area.

I would highly recommend this for just a couples weekend or even better a nice Family getaway.

And don't forget to make it back in the afternoon for some warm fresh cookies at the front desk...'

The staff is great and so friendly...very clean and up to date location!

What a great looking property and accommodations overlooking the water! We stayed in a two bedroom suite -- plenty of room for two crazy couples, full kitchen, well appointed rooms and living area, patio balcony and very accommodating staff. It was a quick impromptu stop after another impromptu day/night in Charlevoix --- We just walked in and found it pretty impressive. Had lots of food and wine and.... from Charlevoix so we never left except to check out the next morning.... and we were only there overnight so brief, but lovely.
