“Excellent Anniversary Adventure”

Definitely not a place to miss on a weekend wine adventure! However I was somewhat disappointed with the prices for the wines.

“Tasty wine. Slightly uppidity atmosphere.”
Reviewed 6 November 2013

I wish I could give Brys a 3.5 instead of just 3 or 4. The winery offers a $5 tasting, which is pretty standard and includes a glass you get to keep. The wine is on the pricier side of what you'll find in the area, but not completely out of whack. That said we did find their red wines, to be quite enjoyable, which is special for an area that specializes in whites and fruit wines. Unfortunately, I do have to agree with a previous reviewer about the atmosphere though. I don't think it's intentional, but it does come across as a bit more snobby as some of the others in the area. On the day we went, there were 2 people working the tasting room, one at the register and one at the counter. At first the person at the counter was very short and almost seemed bothered, but after talking to him for a while the mood lightened and we felt better about the experience. The person at the register awkwardly said nothing, until we walked over to purchase a couple of bottles. Then she was quite pleasant. So, perhaps it's not intentional but just perception. Either way the owners may want to note it and adjust. In the end, the experience was good overall.

“Expensive wines, but worth the trip.”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

My wife and I along with two friends visited Bry's for wine tasting. We were pleasantly surprised at the very reasonably priced tasting special. For $5 per person, we received a wine glass to take home and four tastings which were paired with small food offerings. This not only shuttled most of us through the tasting process orderly but it kept a busy Saturday afternoon manageable, which made our experience very pleasant.

The tasting bar was busy when we were here and we did not step up. We decided to buy two of the four wines we tasted. Both were very good but the prices (Pinot Gregio $22 & Riesling $20) we felt were a little pricey. But hey, they must be doing something right...I bought them.

“Hospitality Excellen”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

We toured on a weekday at start of off season. Loved avoiding the crowds, but missed the excitement of other travelers. However, Carrie A. made our visit to Brys memorable. We felt so welcome. She took our photo, gave us ideas of meals to pair with wines, and shared stories. The wines were great. Like some other places, there was a $5 fee but the wine glass was ours to keep and if we would have bought 3 btls each would get credit on wine.
The design of the tasting room was appropriate and welcoming. A great stop.
