“Clean and Good Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay. We had a second floor room with its own balcony that was apart from everyone else and opened from the outside, different, but nice. The room wasn't huge, but comfortable and clean. Everything was new and updated. Breakfast had a lot of options, eggs, french toast, fresh fruit, and the assorted cold cereals, muffins, and bagels. We would stay here again.

This used to be the Days Inn and it was OK. Now Country Suites has taken it over and everything is redecorated, re-furbished and generally improved. The rooms are all newly decorated with the totally re-done bathrooms. (our bathroom seemed a bit tiny as the new sinks are console-style with a drop in sink and the toilet paper holder is free-standing and not recessed into the wall.)
The inclusive breakfast is great with many options and staff always there to clean up, make more coffee etc. You also get a handout when you check in with a map showing your room and with the wifi password on it. Pool spa area is the same although they have added special elevator chairs to assist handicapped getting into both the pool and the jacuzzi.

Room Tip: Older guests should ask for a room close to the lobby as it can be a very long, long walk for break...

Having been to Traverse City several times in the past, this time we were traveling with our dog, so needed "pet friendly" accommodations. Based upon reviews, we chose this hotel for our week long fall vacation in Traverse City. It touts a "Grand Opening" with the sign at the street, however is just the former Days Inn under new ownership. Thus, it is really an older hotel with a new name. It was clean and acceptable for the week, but not top notch. The rooms have been remodeled with new wallpaper, carpet, flat screen TV, new furniture, and bathroom with granite countertop. The beds were comfortable without back ache in the morning. The heating/cooling systems were a bit old -- standard under the window units with no real thermostat, and quirky operation. And they were noisy. We were forced to change rooms after the first night because our AC unit just stopped working. It was one of the "older ones" and it seems that not all rooms have the latest units installed. The hotel has that characteristic smell that only such well used places seem to have. It is non smoking, however. The shower was acceptable but had this annoying way of getting either too hot or too cold, on and off again. The flush of a toilet in an adjacent room? We weren't really sure. For some odd reason, the TV default was to show the closed caption. We had to opt it off every time we watched. Not a big deal, but annoying just the same. The breakfast was your standard hotel fare: reconstituted scrambled eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, cereal, toast, bagels, juice, coffee, etc. It was good, but nothing to rave about. We did not eat the breakfast every day of our week long stay. Overall, it was comfy and met our needs. However, with that said, if we had not been traveling with our dog there are places in Traverse City which provide a much nicer hotel experience. They do charge a "pet fee" whereas every other pet friendly hotel that we have stayed at does not. I am not sure that it gives them an advantage.

Room Tip: Good choice if traveling with your pet. Otherwise just another facelifted hotel.

This property was at one time the Days Inn & Suites. This property was changed over to a Country Inn & Suites this summer. All the rooms have been updated--new furniture, carpet etc. The breakfast was been expanded and they offer a real nice hot breakfast. The property is second to none. The rooms are very clean. The front desk personnel are real friendly and knowledgable. This really is a super place to stay.

Room Tip: I usually stay on the south end. There are two rooms which you can drive right up to your door (outs...

There are a lot of expensive hotels in Traverse City that I'm sure are nice (but are too far out of my budget). There are also some budget-friendlier hotels in Traverse City that I've stayed at that are abysmally dirty, loud, and uncooperative. So I wasn't sure what to expect THIS trip when we booked the Country Inn- would it be the same? I am so glad it's not the case! This hotel was clean, the staff was very warm and very quick at their jobs (the line to check in moved very fast), and there was only a noise issue through the door to the adjoining room and a bit with the plumbing, but not the walls. Breakfast in the morning was a bit of a traffic nightmare, with so many people shunted through a small circular space, and only one of the doors was open so it felt claustrophobic, but it was overall a good trip and we'll probably stay here again.

Booked the room to stay one night for a wedding. Asked for an early check-in and they a were very accommodating. We checked in around the same time as check-out. Check in was speedy and the room was ideal. Customer Service was fantastic. Instead of turning us away when the computer indicated the room was not ready, they called housekeeping to see when it would be ready. I truly appreciated the ability to get ready for the wedding in the hotel....Thank you. We will return..

I have stayed at this Days Inn twice now. The first time was about eleven years ago and then again this passed week end. I was not impressed or not impressed with the place. The beds were okay. The floor in the room was wood and I wore my socks all the time. can't say I would return for more than a quick night.
