“Great new stay! Love Love Love”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

My husband and I stayed here in February 2014 for a 2 night getaway. We couldn't have asked for a better place. We know the area quite well and this is definitely a welcome addition. The owners Julie and Eric are the right people for the job! They love interacting with the guests and prepared awesome evening snacks and great breakfast items each morning. Our room (Sassafras) was great! We want to come back in the Spring and use the balcony. The Jacuzzi tub hit the spot and the in-room fireplace was super for the cold winter we are having. We will definitely be back.

Julie and Eric have pulled together a wonderful B&B. Julie (and the girls) make fantastic breakfasts. When possible they serve local items, from fruits grown on the property to meats raised on nearby farms. The place is simply fantastic.

I wish I had the time to write the novel of excellence that this place deserves. Beyond the beautiful home, gorgeous and clean space, unique landscape...the owners are amazing, beautiful people. They make you feel like you are part of the family. And the food, oh goodness, delicious! We look forward to visiting this spring! Close to great restaurants if you want to get out. Cute and quaint town.

This place is my new favorite getaway! We really enjoyed every single thing about this visit. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing, do-nothing break from our hectic busy lives. This was it and so much more! Eric called to welcome us a few hours beforehand and see if there was anything they could do for us on the day of arrival.

They had local wine, crackers, and homemade jam waiting out on the counter. It was the most delicious jam we have ever tasted! Since it is the week before Christmas, everything had Christmas touches. It was so beautiful; a beautiful tree, a little evergreen arrangement with red berries in our room, etc. There were so many details around this beautiful B&B and the place was immaculate!

Our room was so nice! We stayed in the Sassafras. It had beautiful furnishings. It was upstairs with a lock and our own key to access it. Loved the country vibe but with the modern touches. Flat screen tv, with blu-Ray player (we brought a movie of our own but also borrowed movies from their movie library). We also had a nice leather chair with ottoman in the corner with its own light next to the sliding glass door which went on to a balcony. That balcony is shared with the room next door but since there was nobody there we got it to ourselves. There are chairs out there as well.

The bathroom was up to date with nice furnishings along with a built in over-head heater!! (Which was amazing after showers or during the cold mornings) the two person hot tub was great and the shower worked perfectly. My husband loved that he could lay in the tub and watch the game because of the two French doors that open up into the room. It is a great idea!

The fireplace was so beautifully set in the corner of the room and was a great asset to our stay. It turned off and on with one flip of the switch. We also loved that there was a ceiling fan. The lights in the room are adjustable to how bright you are wanting them. Each side of the bed has its own little lamp with a low wattage bulb which Is perfect for night time reading or just wanting to have a little light in the room.

The breakfast is amazing! The first morning we had steel cut oats with chia, quinoa, and apples with a little sprinkle of nuts, an amazing ham, veggie, cheese, and egg frittata and the best popovers and homemade jam we have ever tasted! Tuesday: Yogurt parfait with pomegranate and homemade caramel, Eggnog french toast, and bacon from a local farm. Wednesday: Fruit smoothies, carmelized onion, bacon, and kale quiche and apple-cranberry crisp. All around it was so amazing! We also had fresh apple cider from their farm. These were by far the best breakfasts we have ever had anywhere! They were so different and innovative while being delicious! Julie also had out homemade muffins and cookies during the day and evening along with teas and water for anyone to take.

They always addressed us by our names from the moment we met them. The first morning we were talking about music and the different types we all liked. My husband and I had mentioned that we had been to a few country concerts this past summer. The next morning Julie had the artists we had mentioned playing during breakfast!!

Julie and Eric are so kind, warm, friendly, and take such great care in giving great service here at Goldberry Woods. This place was beyond our expectations. We would definitely recommend it and will be going back ourselves!

Room Tip: We really loved the Sassafras. It was upstairs and away from the main areas. There are a few rooms...

We went to this B&B based on a friend's Trip Advisor review. We're so glad we chose this for our anniversary get-away. Eric and Julie were welcoming and friendly. The beds, made by local a local artistic craftsman, are a delight with branches forming canopies. The fire place was cozy and we borrowed a DVD from the large library. We explored the 28 acre organic farm and picked delicious apples, then walked along the river trail and found 8 of the 9 secret and clever Halloween displays. We had a private entrance and deck and went for a midnight stroll and saw several shooting stars. Breakfast was fluffy pumpkin pancakes with candied chestnuts, with a tasty local sausage and a tasty yogurt parfait on the side. Afterwards we borrowed the bikes and rode into New Buffalo for some shopping, dining and to visit the nearby beaches. The spectacular Warren Dunes are only 15 minutes away. Very romantic, quiet and cozy, we'll go back in the spring when the river is higher and borrow the kayak and canoe for a ride on the Galien River which winds around the property.

Room Tip: Check out the rooms online, some have room for well behaved children.

My husband and I went to this B&B for two days on August this year. Their rooms are very clean and spacious. We stayed at the Sassafras and it has a nice balcony. They provide awesome snacks prior to dinner time with selected wines from the wineries around. Eric and Julia were very helpful with tips and they provide just the right amount of attention to guests. It was quite a retreat.I will definitely go back!

Room Tip: Choose the rooms on the second floor to have more privacy. Some of the rooms are by the kitchen area...

We come here almost every season of the year. It is a favorite getaway. You can be as active or as lazy as you like. Great dining, cute shops, outdoor sports, or the comforts of a luxurious home without having to do the work. Can't wait until our next visit. Julie, Eric and the girls feel like family!
