Beautiful B&B with a gracious staff. The breakfast each day was incredible and the wine and homemade popcorn at 5:00 was an added treat! We loved the area and the restaurants also. Our room was so relaxing and inviting. Had a wonderful time and hope to visit again!

Thank you for taking the time to write a wonderful view about the Inn. It was nice talking to you and sorry you had to drive around for miles looking for a coffee shop. There was a Bigby coffee in St. Joe about 20 miles north you missed. :) Glad you didn't have to drive around on Sunday morning, but made coffee here at the Inn. Now you know we're here, we hope you will be coming to stay with us again. Have a great summer!

Mary Ann

I recently stayed at the Inn for 4 nights. I have been going there for over 12 years. They have remodeled all the rooms in the Great House. All of them are beautiful. I especially liked Sandpiper. The colors were very calming and peaceful. They have done a great job and just want others to know that it is a wonderful place to relax. We already have booked 3 more reservations for 2014. Looking forward to spending time at the lake and just chilling.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room. Rooms to the rear of the building tend to be quieter. The ones facing the...

Hi Diana and Charlie,

Great having you back at the Inn as always. Missed seeing you after a long long winter. Glad you liked the new look, but still have your red couch. Thanks so much for being my assistant innkeeper and plumber while I had off for Easter. Glad Charlie was able to get his ring back. There's a new restaurant where Soe's use to be called Mesa Luna that everybody has been raving about. Can't wait till you two come back in June and then July, and November. Wow! I guess you do love this place. Keep spreading the good word about our Inn.

Warmest Regards,

Mary Ann

This was the first time to try a Bed & Breakfast. It was so much more than anticipated!
The staff was so friendly, the breakfast's were good and the "Sandpiper" room large & comfortable. The evening wine and popcorn was an added bonus since I love wine and my hubby doesn't but he does love popcorn!! The social room area is large and absolutely beautiful and relaxing, complete with a piano to play and a huge selection of board games. The Swedish fireplaces are beautiful and give the Inn a character you cannot find elsewhere. The Inn was so quiet and just what I had hoped to experience. We will be going back OFTEN!

Hi Jill and Darrin,

Thank you for taking the time to tell others about The Inn at Union Pier. You were one of the last ones to use the Swedish fireplaces for the season. We closed them last weekend and brought out the bikes and furniture. This weekend the weather is gorgeous and the flowers are coming up and I think winter is gone for another year. We hope to see you this summer or maybe in the fall or both.

Happy Easter and hope you have a wonder spring and summer!

Warmest Regards,

Mary Ann

My husband and I have stayed the Inn at Union Pier 5 times. Bill and his staff could not be nicer and more accommodating. We love the location, and are literally a stones throw from the beach. Breakfast is always a delightful surprise, the Inn itself is lovely, and you cannot beat the wine tastings at 5 o'clock that is served with popcorn. It's a great way to meet other people staying there, or an even better little beginning to your dinner hour. We Have returned every year for the past three or four years we always have the most relaxing weekend. Mary Ann, the manager, is so nice as are all the staff and she makes it a point to know their patrons. It's our favorite anniversary getaway.

Lovely inn. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great food. Short walk to the beach. Enjoyed learning about the historical significance of the inn and surrounding attractions. Lots to do in the area even during the off season. Really felt as though we had 'gotten away,' even though Chicago was only an hours drive from there.

Room Tip: all of the rooms appeared to be very nice, but colors, bed size and décor varied somewhat; would che...

There's always something to do in the area if you want, but most people come here to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city which is only about 90 minutes or less away. It's really pretty in the spring and summer when the gardens are in full bloom and people can be at the beach in three minutes. We have the most beautiful sunsets in Michigan here at Union Pier beach. Three of the rooms in the Great House are getting new mattresses in two weeks so you'll have to come back in the summer or fall and see which rooms they are. Check out our Special on Trip Advisor to see our Spring Get-Away. With any two night stay in April and May (excluding Memorial Day weekend ) you get to enjoy a Special DInner at Timothy's Restaurant on us.

Mary Ann

This was our second trip to the Inn at Union Pier and is definitely not our last. We stayed in the Chardonnay room and it was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff is wonderful, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The fresh baked cookies area wonderful treat. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. We ate at Road House and Timothy's. Both were delicious. We highly recommend the Inn at Union Pier!

Room Tip: We stayed in the main house this time and really liked the convenience.

Glad you had a Great Time at the Inn and area restaurants. I always try to convince people to stay in the Great House especially their first time at the Inn. Most people enjoy it so much they always want to stay there because of the convenience of tea or hot chocolate and of course the cookies. Three of the rooms in the Great House are getting new mattresses in about 2 weeks so you will need to come back and try them out. We also have a Spring Get-Away which includes a Special DInner for two at Timothy's as part of your stay for April and May ( excluding Memorial Day weekend). Thank you so much for taking the time to comment about the Inn and spread the word that this is the Best Bed and Breakfast !

The Inn at Union Pier is a bit off the beaten path, but just minutes away fromt the expressway. We went in March so the weather was still cold and there were very few tourists around so we received a lot of attention at the Inn and other places we visited. We stayed in the Larkspur Room - very nice and comfy with a very old ceramic fireplace which added a romantic setting. The breakfasts were great! The staff and service was outstanding! The price was just right. We ate at Timothy's Restaurant a few blocks away - great food. We also ate at the Roadhouse down the street and had some good home-cooked food. We plan on staying there again!

Room Tip: The next time we stay, we'll book the Captain's Quarters, which is a corner room with a larg...

Hi Joan,

Thanks so much for the fabulous review after staying at The Inn. We were so glad you stayed here for your birthday and had a wonderful time. Hope you received your slippers you left behind and will come see us again. If you want the Captain's make sure you call at least a month in advance because that is our most popular room. We just got new mattresses for the Captain's, Chardonnay, and Dandelion. The plan is to replace all the mattresses throughout the entire Inn. Looking forward to your stay in the future months ahead. Hope you enjoyed your birthday here at the Inn too. You sure have a lot of people that wished you a Happy Birthday! Next time tell them to stay at the Inn and have a real birthday party. :)

Regards,

Mary Ann
