This is our 3rd time to The Inn. The food is wonderful and the proximity to the beach is great! The staff is friendly and helpful. We keep coming back because it is the relaxing get away that we need. Come visit...you won't be disappointed.More

Hi A & P,
Yes, keep coming back to the Inn! I was glad you upgraded to the Idylls room and didn't have to change rooms. Don't forget about the Winter months when you can use the Swedish fireplaces and hopefully there won't be as much snow this winter as last. Thank you for spreading the word about The Inn at Union Pier by reviewing us on Trip Advisor. We're certainly having a beautiful summer so far with temperatures not too hot, just right!
We had yet another fabulous experience at The Inn at Union Pier over the holiday weekend! Our room in the cottage outside of the main building was wonderful! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the owner, Bill, was once again welcoming and gracious to his all his guests. Whether you want to bike, play yard or board games, hit the beach, jump in the hot tub, or sit down at the piano - it's all there for you. We would never consider staying anywhere else while in the area!!
Hi J & K,
So glad you enjoyed the breakfasts and bikes at The Inn. The weather was so gorgeous that some people requested eating their breakfast outside. I'm so happy you enjoyed your stay with us again and hope to see you maybe on Labor Day ? :) Many people tell us it feels like we're coming home. Thanks for taking time to comment about your fabulous stay at the Inn.
A fun weekend get-a-way! This place allows for full enjoyment of Southwestern Michigan: nearby wineries, beach-access, beach cruisers for exploring and a wonderful hot-tub. Not to mention the scrumptious breakfasts served every morning and the constant supply of cookies!
Glad you enjoyed the cookies, delicious breakfasts, free bikes, and hot tub. Our baker, Sandy, wondered where all the cookies went last week. She had to make extra because we've been so busy during the week besides being booked every weekend until Labor Day weekend. The Cottage of the Four Seasons is being renovated and updated this upcoming winter. You'll have to come back next summer to see how it looks. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Inn.
This a lovely inn in a great location, right near the lakefront, with pretty, comfortable rooms. The proprietors go out of their way to make staying there enjoyable, serving wine and home-made popcorn at cocktail hour and providing delicious breakfast. They even gave us wonderful gluten-free cookies because we'd asked for gluten-free. I can't think of a nicer way to spend time in a delightful corner of Michigan.
Thank you for the lovely comments about our Inn. So many people are reading the great reviews and are wanting to come, but we are booked every weekend until Labor Day. We have some availability during the week but with the " Procrastinator's Special" the days are getting filled up too. Glad you enjoyed the gluten-free cookies too. We have to hide them so they don't get eaten up by those who do not require a gluten free snack. Hope to see you again real soon. Keep spreading the good news about The Inn at Union Pier. It's beautiful here in the fall and winter and that's when you can use the Swedish Fireplaces for those crisp cool nights.
Our group (four couples) picked this B&B for our annual cycling trip. The Inn has 16 rooms located in a main building plus two out-buildings. My wife and I stayed in one of the out-buildings.Our room was recently painted, and a decent size. Otherwise it was pretty ordinary and the bathroom a bit shoddy.
Here is what my wife and I liked: great porch attached to our building for evening gatherings, late afternoon cookies, wine, and lemonade, very friendly and accommodating staff, great temperature control system for the rooms, hot tub, Wi FI, covered area for our bicycles, ample parking.
Other comments: poor mattress-we checked the empty room across from ours to switch but the mattress there was worse than ours, noise from nearby freight trains in the night.
Thank you for taking the time to comment about your stay. The building you stayed in needs to be renovated and redone. It was not recently painted, but will be in the winter months. We have recently renovated and painted the Great House and the Pier House was redone in 2012. Since the Cottage is rented mainly in the Spring and Summer, we haven't done anything in a few years. We know several mattresses need to be replaced and will do that before next year. Many guests have told us the mattress across the hall from yours is very comfortable. The operation and update of a bed and breakfast can be quite costly. Over the last five years we have spent over $100,000 in new roofing and renovations. Our next phase is to renovate the Cottage of the Four Seasons. Even though you didn't have 7 rooms as agreed for your discount we honored quite a nice discount for high season. As far as the train, we can't move the train, but we are the farthest establishment from the train and places in New Buffalo have the train tracks right outside the hotel. We hope you will consider this response when making a return trip to the Inn with your group. Looking forward to your next stay with us in the future.
Very Happy my Family chose this place for this trip. The room was a little chilly, but the Larkspur room was roomy and comfy. The staff that work here are very nice. They gave good restaurant recommendations and even understood when I broke one of their bikes. The breakfasts were spot on, I never felt the need to not eat something on my plate. I
Enjoyed the iced tea in the kitchen. However, I do suggest that you not bring younger kids as the guests became angry at my cousin. Altogether, Great 4 nights, enjoyed my stay.
We're very glad your family chose to stay here too and was sorry about the guests being upset with your cousin. He was really good for a five year old and we're glad he was able to celebrate his sixth birthday with all of you. We're so sorry your room was chilly. You should have told us and we would have adjusted the temperature or given you extra blankets. We have two other bikes which need repair because the chains come off when pedaling too hard. We should have kept the old bikes. Hope your family will return to the Inn again. Thanks for taking the time to comment about your stay. Have a great summer and enjoy time with family and friends.
