A beautiful resort hotel and casino in Watersmeet. Definitely the place to stay while visiting the area. Our king bed room was a steal, for less than $60 per night. Our room was pristinely clean, had an awesomely comfortable huge bed, cable TV, etc, Service at the front desk was quick and friendly. The resort has a pool and a restaurant, but because we arrived late we did not get to visit them. The pool looked refreshing and clean. The casino is awesome! The hotel gave us each $15 promo money to spend in the casino, since we were staying the night. Just like our room, the casino and bar were clean and well staffed with friendly service. My husband had great luck with the newer slot machines. We would definitely recommend this casino and hotel to anyone visiting the area, and we plan on visiting again!

Room Tip: Stay in a no smoking room. Remember, this is a casino so smoking is allowed.

I am writing this from my hotel room, this could not wait. My husband and I came here for my birthday a little over a year ago and had an amazing time! Great customer service, exciting machines, great food..... what in the world happened? We came back for our one year wedding anniversary and things have changed DRAMATICALLY. All of the slot machines are boring, the food was awful and so are the wait/ kitchen staff. We saw a woman chef yell at an elder after the elder asked when how long until the bbq ribs would be back out on the buffet bc they ran out 1 hour into dinner, the chef said, when they're done ok!! I felt awful. after that we saw the same chef drinking soda by the buffet line....I work in a casino, no employee on the clock should ever eat or drink in front of customers, nor should kitchen staff be wandering around in the restaurant. anyway, the rooms are clean, (but what is up with the wallpaper of horse butts?), players club staff are very helpful, as are the table games staff, hotel staff are very blunt and don't care if they say bad things about the casino. overall I would say this place is going downhill fast. get help!! this place was so fun before!!

We have stayed at Dancing Eagles Resort for the past 8 years, but this will be the last time. It seems the whole complex is being run into the ground. Wall paper in the rooms is peeling, beds and pillows are terrible. All the employees in the casino do not want to be there. They even say the place is going down hill. Some of the most popular progressive slot machines you see in most casinos have been pulled out, does that tell you something. This place needs a full makeover.

We stopped at Dancing Eagles Resort on our trip through the UP. The hotel room was a king room and was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room was at the rear of the hotel looking out onto a parking area and woods. It was very quiet and smoke free.
We ate 2 meals in the restaurant, a buffet for dinner and a breakfast off the menu. Dinner was average, a seafood buffet. There were several fish offerings, seafood lasagna and clam chowder. The salad bar was small with few choices and there were no plain vegetables on the buffet only a cheesy mixture of vegetables. The mussels were excellent and the peel and eat shrimp were ok. They had corn beef carved at the buffet and a cooked to order past dish that was pretty tasteless. The service was attentive but the buffet was always a mess. The only attention it received was to be refilled. Breakfast was average.
The casino was small and very depressing. No one seemed to be having fun, it was dark and there was no service visible. We played our casino package and the assigned machines and did not win a single spin. It seemed that no one was trying very hard to get people to come back.

While building our lake home on the beautiful Cisco Chain, we have had several opportunities to stay at Dancing Eagles. The rooms are basic, spacious, always clean & comfortable. All 4 seasons, we know we can stay here for a warm bed, roof over our heads, a decent meal, a swim in the pool, and a little casino diversion! This locally run gem is a solid value, with unique local destinations (Bond Falls, Paulding Light, Sylvania Wilderness to name a few) As a city resident (Chicago) and frequent traveler, I appreciate a good boutique hotel - but as a rural Wisconsin girl by birth I ALSO appreciate a modern hotel
oasis in the middle of the beautiful Northwoods. Apples v Oranges, folks - adjust certain expectations by zip code! All 4 seasons, this resort offers fun and convenient functionality, with plenty of "big city" amenities and friendly service.

I have only good things to say about this place. It was our first time there. They were the first motel to have rooms along the US2 highway all the way from Duluth/Superior. We were so tired coming in very late and the folks were so accomodating. The hotel was really quiet for a Saturday night and except for the maid vacuuming the hallway early Sunday there was no noise. Free coffee and computers in the lobby. I was in heaven. We were traveling with kids and were not going in the Casino so can't comment on that part. The motel was clean, tidy, quiet and security was patrolling all night. What more can you ask for? A little courtyard to look at instead of the room across the way made the outdoors very pleasant to look at. Just wished we could have stayed longer and maybe checked out breakfast. The only negative I can think of is that the parking lot was full and we had to walk a ways with our luggage and there were no non smoking rooms left so we had to take a smoking one since we needed 2 queen beds. The hotel more than met my expectations and the price was really reasonable. Thank you Dancing Eagles!

Room Tip: The bqck end of the motel is a dead end so less traffic, and the indoor rooms look at the courtyard...

And that's about it. It's a typical rural casino hotel. My senior rate was about $70. The room was clean and basic. The only place there is WiFi is in the lobby, which is unusual for most hotels. You do get $10 in slot play when you check in plus another $5 slot play when you sign up for a players card. The slots you play are ones designated by the casino and I found them to be very tight. I would stay here again but will play the table games and avoid the slots. The food was typical casino fare. It's very close to the spectacular Bond Falls and worth a side trip to see them.
