Country Hermitage Bed and Breakfast Traverse City
Ranked #1 of 3 Williamsburg B&B and Inns
Reviewed 13 June 2011

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary at the Country Hermitage. The innkeeper and staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We loved the old farm house feel...the room was very clean, very comfortable and the food was delicious. We would recommend this bed and breakfast and will be back again.

We stayed here on the last night of our 5 week cross-country road trip, and it was one of our favorite B&B's of the trip. The owners were friendly but mellow, the food (not just breakfast, but the baked goods, snacks, and wine) was delicious, the scenery was phenomenal, and the set-up was perfect for mingling or keeping to yourself. Most importantly, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was quiet with a great view. I can't think of anything I would have changed!

My wife and I spent two nights at the Country Hermitage for our 10th anniversary and we couldn't have left happier. Every aspect of the stay was spot on - A perfect combination of the comfort of home with the attention to detail and service of a five-star hotel.

- Amazing breakfast - Cherry french toast was the highlight
- Big private bathroom with clean towels and toiletries daily
- Beautiful grounds including fishing pond and cherry trees
- Good location - easy drive to downtown Traverse City
- Loved the included daily desserts and drinks
- Highly recommend the romance package with in-B&B massages and a picnic lunch

The only slight disappointment was with the quality of the beaches - this has nothing to do with Country Hermitage, but rather it's location on the bay. The water is clear and was a decent temperature in August, but the closest beaches do not have a lot of area and are somewhat rocky.

If you are looking for a B&B in Michigan, you can't go wrong here!

We had an excellen stay at this B&B. We went up there for my husband's birthday and long weekend. The house and grounds were charming. The owners were very welcoming and had good suggestions on what to do in the area. The coffee and breakfast was delicious !

I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend them.

This beautiful old farm house is located close enough to traverse City that you can go do fun things, but far enough away that you don't feel crowded. Patrick and Lynn (the owners) are super friendly helpful people. Tell Lynn that you will only stay there if she makes her sweet pepper bacon for you in the morning. My only complaint would have to be that our "bay view" room was pretty far from the bay. You could see it off in the distance. I did an internet search, and was hoping to be on/near the Grand Traverse Bay. Overall we had a great quick trip to the Country Hermitage.

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt like we were welcome. The owners treated us like royalty! The rooms are very nice. The B&B is in a great location with plenty to do on the grounds. We loved it and will surely return!!!

My wife and I celebrated a belated honeymoon for one week in the northern Michigan area. We stayed in a Category III Suite for three nights at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island during this trip, to give you a perspective on the quality of inns that we wanted to experience. In all aspects we felt The Country Hermitage B&B equaled if not surpassed our experience at The Grand Hotel when it came to being pampered and personal attention. Pat was our host and took exceptional care of us. There are many little details that were paid attention to by Pat and Lynn. This is a truly wonderful establishment in the heart of cherry orchards and numerous quality vineyards. It gets you away from the sometimes hectic downtown Traverse City, being approx. 8 minutes from the city limits. You can see the east bay from the house. Do not pass up on the chance to stay here!!! The cherry and walnut french toast with real maple syrup will get you going in the morning, and a bottle of local wine set out in the evening to enjoy with treats is most welcome. But it is the friendly, personal treatment by the hosts that really "put the cherry on top" for us. Thanks, Pat!
