We had a jam-packed two days. It started with a tour of the Manor, Judy is an excellent hostess.
The Manor is warm and full of history. The rooms are up to date with the latest in comfort. We had a late dinner, in nearby Traverse City and then to our comfortable room and bed. My Husband was to be up early to run the Bay Shore Marathon, the next morning. After the Maraton, we returned he showered, I relaxed in the Garden Room which has a breezeway where I had a view of the garden with the wild turkeys feasting at the feeders. We then went for a short hike in the Sand Lakes Quiet Area. We did some touristing around Traverse City and then did a drive around the peninsula of the wineries. After dinner, we returned to the Manor and noticed large candy dishes of chocolates, how welcoming. Before bed, I was able to enjoy, the book, that Judy put together about history of the house, while I watched the Red Wings Game on TV, in the billiard room. The Home is warm-hearted, quiet, comfortable and cozy.

We stayed four nights and had a great time. Judy and John are very warm and friendly. It was fun hearing about the history of the house and all the rooms are beautifully renovated. It is easy to find and the location was great for touring the area.

We stayed in the Roger/Dennis room with the fireplace and own bathroom, it had a large entry area that had a large closet and sink area, with the claw foot tub and toilet just off that behind a door. Some toiletries provided, bath beads for the tub, etc. The home is much more warm and inviting than the on-line pictures give it. The woodwork in this home is amazing and the hard work and love is evident. The previous owners (original family) history is kept alive throughout this home in pictures and other finds, which adds to it's homey feel. Decorated in antiques, not so much that is cluttered or unusable. Immaculately clean. There are lots of spots to get cozy with a good book or special someone. The 3rd floor has a large space for games/puzzles/pool/reading or just gathering if you stay with family/friends. We were the only guests on the particular night we were there, so had the place to ourselves. They (John and Judy) do not cook breakfast, but provide fresh brewed coffee and other beverages, toast, cereals, bagels, english muffins, pastry, fresh fruit and good company. A 'Help yourself' kind of kitchen. Which is all we need. It is very close to the Turtle Creek Casino, Traverse City area. Great stay.
