Not worth the money at all!!! Journey to the hotel was really bad, we paid for our transfer when booking and on arrival we had to wait for an hour and half for the coach to fill up before we can go anywhere. Everyone that was in the coach was not going to the same place so it took us 30mins to get there. At arrival, our room was not ready and the staff were not helpful as she just told us to go to the bar and have drinks, but we had all our luggage with us and we asked if we can leave it somewhere safe as it was dinner time and we were starving!! she said ok after speaking to someone about it, by the time she got back to us the dinner buffet was nearly empty, so we had bread and butter and some greek salad for dinner!!! which was annoying as we were really hungry and very tired. Then we went to the reception to enquire about our room.

Rooms were not that good, cracked walls, bed side lights falling off the wall. Bed was as hard as ROCK!!! No air con, was not working for most of our time there!! If you open the balcony door you end up with mosquitoes and some other flying insects we never seen before. Breakfast was limited and same goes for lunch and dinner. Free alcohol was from midday until 11pm:(:( When we booked it, it was all inclusive and me and my friend were so happy about not having to pay extra money on cocktails:(:(:(

The dinning roof was leaking as you go to get yourself a drink you find a big whole on the roof and was leaking water, the staffs put cardboard's on the floor to absorb the water but it was just a big mess and slippery!!!

The hotel had a beach but its not clean had so much leaves and algae and it was not sandy beach, it was more of pebbles than sandy beach. Night life in the hotel was boring and going to the city was a mission as you have to wait for the busses with no sign directing you were you want to go.
So all in all it was not worth the money at all!!!

Dear Adunia,

We are very sorry for your terrible experience at Corfu Senses Resort. Let us please reasure you that we take into consideration every single comment and making improvements step by step to meet expectations of our guests as soon as possible.

We are trying to focus on guests satisfaction and it's very dissapointed that we were not able to provide you room in time. We will improve this issue as the most important aim. Unfortunatelly we are not able to change the schedule of public busses but we always suggest our guests to use taxi to the nearest village to have a good outing time as it costs not so much - around 10 euros.

Let us please point out that the hotel has been taken over only 2 years ago from the previous owners and we faced some issues which we are improving step by step. If you would like to come to our hotel again to check the new improvements please let us know directly via e-mail and we will provide you room in time and grant you exclusive rate.

Arrived at hotel with small child and left next day. This Hotel was so dangerous. Areas of concerns were: Smashed glass in patio doors, nails sticking out of furniture, door came away from wall, daughter fell down open drain in bathroom, tiles on floor broken, air con leaking onto floor, swimming pool not suitable for small children to get in and out of due to broken drains around outsides, drop from path onto beach and concrete ledge, Drop from childrens designated indoor play area of about 4ft onto concrete outside. Cot provided was broken and daughter trapped arm in it. Food covered in flies, cold and unrecognisable, cables draped across floor in dining area, overhead pipes leaking in drinks area, The entire hotel was dirty and the music went on till 4am which they refused to turn down. Worse Hotel we have ever seen.

Room Tip: Do not go to this hotel

Overall the holiday was very good , however only because of what we made it !
the location of the hotel is a quiet area which is nice 5 minute walk to a small town, with nice scenery .

However the hotel it's self is in need of a lot of tlc , I understand it is actually been taken over by new management at the end of this year , the rooms are basic but bareable very hard beds not actually any double beds 2 single pushed together , air con is good bit loud but does the job, Bathrooms are a squeeze but also bareable .

The pool and beach are ok, beach isn't really a beach made of sharp pebbles which is hard to walk on without shoes, there ARE sewage pipes going into the sea which are very clear to see , also several times while I was in the sea I did see RATS at the side in all the bushes ,
The pool area is ok , rats were also seen around the pool.

There is a wasps nest in the hotel and it is very clear there is however staff don't feel need to do anything , I got stung 3 times whilst there and they are very irritating when you are trying to relax!!!

Food is below average , salad is basic and doesn't get replaced very often through out allocated meal times , meat is the same every dag either very fatty pork , chicken or beef , thankfully they serve spaghetti everyday , and the odd few vegtables, there is fresh bread and plenty of water melon .
the meals are pretty much the same every day hhe only change is the BBQ , don't expect much different .
There is a drinks machine which you can help yourself to and do feel privalleged if you are lucky to get a glass made from glass not plastic as the bar uses plastic glasses all the ttime , which is understandable for during the day around the pool but not a night time , also drinks are very very small and weak which suprisingly get stronger after 11oclock when you have to pay 4€ for a cocktail and1.50€ a quarter pint of larger !!!!!!

Also do not expect ANY entertainment , our holiday was in the middle of September and there excuse for no entertainment was "it's the end of the season" which was also the reason for no ice cream all of our holiday!!

the staff were all kind and maids were brilliant !!!

Although the hotel was a very big disappointment we rented a car and went out for meals which I think is the reason we had a good holiday without doing that we would of been miserable stuck in the hotel !!!!!

Just back (21/09 /11) Hotel in lovely location, secluded, with mountain back drop.good shaded area between pool and beach with palm and banana trees, plenty of sunbeds, beach shingle, sea clear ideal for snorkeling as fish plentiful.Food plentiful but perhaps bland. Considering the price of holiday minus flight I really dont understand some peoples expectations , it works out at approx £20 per night that includes air con(ours worked, sometimes this is an extra) fridge wine, beer soft drinks bread with meals ,ice cream, sunbeds and parasols round pool and on beach(beds on beach can be an extra on holiday) Staff very nice especially Jacky on reception.
There are wasps but they are also at the Louis Regentcy down the road ,there are odd leaks but cant say it affected me, as for noise, once you closed the double shutter door and the double glazed balcony door (which switched on the air con) you could'nt hear a thing. We made many friends and there was a good atmosphere As others have mentioned this is not a 4 star hotel but its not a 4 star price. Its still good value. It helps if you have been to Greece before and so have experianced some of their shortcomings but thats part of the charm. We had a great time. Some people need to get real !!!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for sea view (may be up grade) rooms facing road may be noisy. Hotel being renovated for next y...

We went to this hotel in Agios Ioannis Corfu 17-24 September 2011, All Inclusive, believing it was 4 star. Well, it honestly deserves only 2 stars. There is mould all around the hotel rooms and corridors, tiles on the floor and walls are lose, ready to drop, bathroom are so small that it is a challenge to use them and taps are so disrty with some sticky dirt that it was disgusting. In our room, toilet was placed half under the huge sink and we had to slide-in to sit on it. I am a bit overweight and size 16 and I was unable to slide in fully, I had to use reception toilet a lot. It was first All-In holiday where I actually lost weight. The breakfast was every day the same: bacon, fried egg, beans, fried bread and tomatoes. There was also plain cornflakes and milk and slices cheeses and cheapest ever slices 'ham'. Also there were like canned fruit in the syrup (like tropical mix) and plan yoghurt. for lunch there were usually potatoes and pasta, fried sardines and some kind of sause. Meat was chicken, but it was impossible to identify which part of chicken it was. furit was only water melon or yellow melon, but it was one OR the other. That's it, no more fruit. Salads were always tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, peppers and onions with little feta cheese or the cabbage with carrot. That's it! Evening mean was very similar, but there might have been chips instead of potatoes. Bar has run our of ice for drinks twice and vodka was gone one evening. our first 2 nights were horrible, we wanted to relax but music at the bar was so loud we could hear it throuh hut window and with earplugs in and until 2AM! We went to complain to the reception and we were told that they will speak to manager next morning. Next night was the same and we complained again and again we have been told that they will speak to manager (I think they were only saying what we wanted to hear and never did anything). We asked to change the room then from sea view to the mountain view as we would not hear music on the other side. We got new room, but we were disturbed by cars on the road and at 6.30am byt noise from the back kitchen. but it was better than loud music on the other side. There were no table tennis or anything else apart from field with grass. the only entertainment was greek dance night, after 10 mintues the animators pulled people from audience to dance in line and this was it. If I paid like £10 per night, then it would be bearable, but we paid much more and it is not acceptable. Pool was clean and staff polite, but that's all the positives. There is a wifi in the reception area. The aircon in the rooms does not work. There are no safe boxes in the rooms, the balcony doors do NOT lock. The fridge in the rooms is as loud as tractor. We are very dissapointed. To add to all this, there is a shop in the hotel with souvenirs and stuff, everything 30% more expensive than 100 meters down the road. If we paid like £150 per person with flights then I would no be so dissapointed, but we paid £350 per person and it was not worth it at all, compared to e.g. Turbo Club in Gran Canaria where we went last year, same price, but 100 times better hotel. I agree that some reviews are really exadurating, but there is a bit of true in eavery review about Mare Monte.

Before I begin please note we arent moaners or habitual complainers... read our other reviews and you will see this is the only negative one we've written- I want people to know this is a totally honest review and am writing it so that people can avoid or change booking if they can...We arrived at the Mare Monte last week on Saturday 17th Sept and within an hour of getting there we were on the phone to the travel company in UK to move us out of there. we had to endure one night until we were transferred and I can honestly say that hotel is an absolute disgrace- I wouldnt stay there for FREE. The air con was leaking all over the hotel, the place was filthy- swarming with flies and wasps... we were sent into lunch on arrival and i just felt sick. there was just one section for food, there was some greek salad- strangely minus olives and feta (odd I know!), some congealed white sauce, supposedly carbonara to go with the hard dry pasta, the bread was stale and hard, not a dessert in sight.. just overall very very very poor... what made it worse was having to fend off flies and wasps which were constantly landing either on the plates or on you... i took a fish and was sickened when i sat down to attempt to eat it... see photo... disgusting! The canteen (its never seen a restaurant so cant call it one) had the atmosphere of a funeral parlour, no hustle and bustle of staff cleaning/ clearing plates etc... just silence apart from the buzz of the flies and wasps... if it wasnt so disgusting it could be quite funny watching people do funny arm flapping walks to get from A to B and avoid the wasps...The drinks were given in the little cheap plastic cups you get with water machines in UK, even beer was served in them so to get a pint you would need to visit the bar about 7 times to fill a standard glass... how is that all inclusive? The rooms are very basic with hand held shower, dirty floors, filthy taps, filthy drainage plug, rock hard beds and pillows, rubbish useless leaking air con- on the plus side the view was lovely but what good is that when you cant relax for the filth around you... just awful. The small balconies are separated from next door with ugly wired glass and ours was all cracked. There was an awful sewage stench around the beach, and although a beautiful setting, it was dirty. Whilst we were ringing the UK we took a walk down to the beach to make the calls... couldnt find one sunbed that wasnt broken, there was broken glass on the beach (presumably washed up as i dont think the hotel owns an actual glass) but no signs of any staff having cleaned beach area... ever. The BBQ was used as an ahstray by bar staff (see pictures) which made me sick and the cocky barman smoked constantly whilst working behind the bar. There must have been 40 wasps hovering around soft drinks tap behind the bar. I can not say a good thing about this hotel, apart from the fact that it is indeed in a lovely setting, but as i say what is the point of that when you just cant relax at all because of the sub standard cleanliness and food/ drinks/flies etc. When we told the receptionist we wanted to move she was clearly used to getting complaints and took it with a pinch of salt, as if it happens everyday. this hotel should not be allowed to take money from people, its a disgrace. After our only night at the hotel i was talking to a couple who had arrived there on the Tuesday and I felt so sorry for them as they had been told by their holiday company that they couldnt move as the hotel was charging them the full price regardless and so they had to just stick it out... they were there for 2 weeks and told me their daughter wanted to go home- I really felt for them having to endure that place for so long. We booked with easyjet holidays who were great in helping us from UK and although we had to pay to move and went to the half board Park Hotel instead of all inclusive it was far better value for money, a lovely place, spotless, fabulous food, beautiful setting and a million times better than nightmare monte. We obviously ended up spending more than we planned as drinks/ snacks should have been in with the price but it was far far better than the dump we had just left. Apparently the Mare Monte has been sold off and was given as a reason for the staff not caring/ cleaning etc. but this isnt a good enough excuse, it is robbery taking peoples hard earned money for that place. If you have booked here for end of season please do yourself a favour and change your booking whilst in UK, its far easier and cheaper to do from UK before you go than doing as we did once you've arrived in the resort. We ended up having a lovely relaxing holiday but I so wish Id have never booked mare monte in the first place.
