“Lovely relaxing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

This holiday lived up to our expectations. The hotel is set into the hill and has wonderful views of the Greek coast line. We booked a superior garden view room. We looked over the kids splash pool and over the sea. This was a lovely surprise as were not expecting to have any sea view. The room has been recently refurbished to a high standard and kept very clean through out our stay. In fact the whole hotel was kept spotless. We found the main restaurant to be very good. We ate there for breakfast and evening meal. Plenty to cover all tastes and diets. All the waiting staff were very friendly. We stayed at the end of June so not quite schools hols but found that about 8pm was very busy and would have to queue to be seated. We just avoided this time. We spent the day down by the beach and Spiros and staff were again great, always remembering you and time for a chat. Food here was limited but it suited what we wanted to eat so no complaints. We did sit by the pool one morning but I agree you have to be up early if you want a bed under the shade by that I mean before 9am. We also found it quite noisy so headed back to the beach. During our stay we tried the Greek restaurant, get a table outside it adds to the atmosphere, nice food and great to be served. The Italian restaurant is not a trattoria so doesn't serve pizza/pasta food. Does lack atmosphere but food good. Each evening we sat out at the bar. Again the staff are very friendly and work extremely hard.
We missed out the chance of taking the boat trip to Corfu town arranged by the hotel. Didn't know anything about it until a few days into our holiday by then it was booked up as we wanted to go in the evening and it gets booked up quickly. Surely the hotel should have a leaflet in the rooms. We did try to get the local bus into Corfu town but after spending 40mins waiting in the sun we gave up, too hot!
At the bottom of the hotel entrance is a couple of local restaurants and wee shop. The wee shop sells everything...gift ideas to snacks, drinks and food.
As this hotel is built into the hill then not quite suited for all as you do spend your time walking up and down loads of steps. There is a lift but quite small, we left that to who needed most. However, this kept you fit and allowed you to indulge at the buffet!
The hotel offers free Wifi, you have to remember to login each time, can be slow but does work.
We loved our experience here and would definitely return. A big thank you to all the staff for making our holiday.

A large hotel set on a hillside with lots of steps. There are two beaches, one man-made sand with steps into the sea, the other pebbles. The hotel is clean and well kept. The rooms are comfortable. The food is ok. Service is slow especially for drinks. If you want to sit by the pool you will have to be up early to reserve a sunbed. Equally be sure to reserve seats in the a la carte restaurants early to avoid disappointment. The main buffet restaurant can be very busy with children running up and down. The hotel also offers boat trips but you have to book these early too. The wi fi service is slow and intermittent. We thought the hotel 4 star, but please remember that our visit was in high season. Our conclusion was that it lacked the little things that make you feel a valued guest.

If you are reading this review you have either booked to stay at this hotel or you are thinking of booking. Either way you have made an excellent choice! We have just returned from a week at his lovely hotel and cannot recommend it enough. From the moment you arrive you are greeted by professional, friendly staff who cannot do enough for you to make your stay a delightful experience and this remains the case right up to the time you leave. The food is freshly prepared and with good variety each day. Our only slight reservation was the evening entertainment which wasn't as good as it could have been but this was a minor point and otherwise the holiday was one of the best we've had. Definitely on our list to return to again one day.

Room Tip: Request a room with a Sea View. Ours was a 'Superior' one and it had breath taking views of...

Very rarely am I in a position to say hotel was amazing, the staff, the facilities the food just awesome. We stayed for 10 nights and had a fabulous time, the little details and the effort the staff but in is incredible. From guest relations, to cleaners, to waiters and he pool monitors, I can't speak highly enough so we will be back next year. It is a very big hotel but it has a soul and it's people are a credit to the company they work for. 1st class loved every minutes, thank you for a great great stay.

Room Tip: If you want a night out go to the local taverna on the beach, amazing fish at a very good price, it...

Having read such wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor my husband and I were sure that we had selected the perfect hotel, however there were some aspects of this hotel which let it down and I would say it is more of a 4 Star than a 5 Star hotel.
Pros
- extremely friendly and helpful staff
- lovely location
- very clean
- fantastic spa with very well experienced staff

Cons
- we paid extra for a superior sea view, however we had a room overlooking the dining area with the sea in the distance. The room itself was pleasant and clean, but we were disappointed with the view.
- the food was of a satisfactory standard, but dishes were repeated regularly and when we visited for lunch on the last day the dishes seemed to be the left over dishes from the last two evenings meals.
- we were allowed one meal in the Italian restaurant and one in the Greek restaurant with our All inclusive package, however on the first day we tried to book and were told the Italian restaurant was fully booked for the next 9 days - how does this work when some guests only stay for 7 days. We were advised we could eat twice in the Greek restaurant but after the first visit we were reluctant to return as the food was very average.
- sunbeds - in the week we were there we only managed to get sunbeds once around the pool. Some guests reserved the beds with towels and did not even use them! There are plenty around the kids pool, however this was the first year without our children so we did not want to spend any time there.
- table service was very slow and it was quicker to go to the bar and get drinks yourself.
- Wasps - there were an incredible amount of wasps around the hotel which was resulted in us not eating on the outside terrace. I spotted 2 wasps nests in the hotel - one of which was just outside the Kids Club.

This hotel being advertised as a 5 star is nothing less than false!
The web site for this hotel is a mile appart from what I am currently experiencing, please dont be fooled by the very cleverly put together promotional web site this must only apply to the superior rooms.
I am not going to harp on about the food the service or the entertainment as I honestly believe this is good although compared to other hotels our family have experienced this is not yet a 5 star service. up to now all the staff have been very friendly and helpful, the food is more than acceptable (our party consists of a vegetarian and a picky 5 year old) which up to now have been more than catered for, lets not forget all inclusive resorts have to cater for the masses but un fortunately even the best food can become tiresome but thats just the nature of all inclusive holidays.
The staff don't own the hotel and can only work with what thay have got and here at Marbella Beech I am sure they are doing their best.
The entertainment is ok and the hotel management are booking different acts to appeal to and try and please everyone from young to old.
My only real issue is the rooms which were made available to us which unfortunately in my opinion is the first impresion of the hotel,
Room 1- at the back of the hotel over looking staff parking a service road, a large generator and steep hill side.
Room 2 - 229 on face value a little better than room 1 but looking out at a 25 foot high wall, but at approx 5am the sound of water gushing down pipes was un barable and constantly woke us and our 5 year old who would then want to get up which led to long tiresome days (certainly not much of a rest).
Finally there was room 3,
25 feet away from the Italian restaurant, 35 feet away from the bar where there is generally live music until 11pm (to be honest i am not holding out much hope and we have no more options other than to sleep in the reseption)
l feel that foolishly like many other working class families I believed in the advertisement and promotional video which is not what you get unless you pay a premium.
if this had been explained to us at the time of booking we would have been able to make a more acurate descision (potentially can we afford the up grade if not are we going to be happy with the room or shall we book a different resort)
If you like us spend time in your hotel room whilst the kids are resting or sheltering from the afternoon sun
PLEASE PLEASE be fully aware of were you will be situated within this hotel to avoid disappointment.

I am staying in room 306 until
11/8/14 if any of the senior management would like to discuss or try to resolve the predicament we have found our selves in I would be more than happy to meet and post the comments or solutions that could be made to try and resolve this situation.

Great stay. If you're looking for a polished, upmarket, five star hotel, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a comfortable, relaxed, well appointed hotel with great service and in a beautiful location pick the Marbella Beach. We went half board fr two weeks - food wasn't exciting and certainly not five star, but no complaints. Usual fare in a big hotel catering for large numbers. Small beach is really nice and straight across the road. Low-key entertainment every evening.

Wide spread of nationalities - French, Belgian, Itallian, Brits, Greeks, Russians and a few Germans - and this added to the environment. Good mix, not 'cliquey' and no nationalistic enclaves round the pool.

In summary, when we walked in on day one we weren't convinced - it looked fine, but not as upmarket as you might expect for a five star hotel (and it's really only five star by continental holiday resort standards). Within a few hours we were sold, mainly due to the great atmosphere, staff and environment. Great break.

Room Tip: Pick a sea-view; worth the extra.
