This holiday lived up to our expectations. The hotel is set into the hill and has wonderful views of the Greek coast line. We booked a superior garden view room. We looked over the kids splash pool and over the sea. This was a lovely surprise as were not expecting to have any sea view. The room has been recently refurbished to a high standard and kept very clean through out our stay. In fact the whole hotel was kept spotless. We found the main restaurant to be very good. We ate there for breakfast and evening meal. Plenty to cover all tastes and diets. All the waiting staff were very friendly. We stayed at the end of June so not quite schools hols but found that about 8pm was very busy and would have to queue to be seated. We just avoided this time. We spent the day down by the beach and Spiros and staff were again great, always remembering you and time for a chat. Food here was limited but it suited what we wanted to eat so no complaints. We did sit by the pool one morning but I agree you have to be up early if you want a bed under the shade by that I mean before 9am. We also found it quite noisy so headed back to the beach. During our stay we tried the Greek restaurant, get a table outside it adds to the atmosphere, nice food and great to be served. The Italian restaurant is not a trattoria so doesn't serve pizza/pasta food. Does lack atmosphere but food good. Each evening we sat out at the bar. Again the staff are very friendly and work extremely hard.
We missed out the chance of taking the boat trip to Corfu town arranged by the hotel. Didn't know anything about it until a few days into our holiday by then it was booked up as we wanted to go in the evening and it gets booked up quickly. Surely the hotel should have a leaflet in the rooms. We did try to get the local bus into Corfu town but after spending 40mins waiting in the sun we gave up, too hot!
At the bottom of the hotel entrance is a couple of local restaurants and wee shop. The wee shop sells everything...gift ideas to snacks, drinks and food.
As this hotel is built into the hill then not quite suited for all as you do spend your time walking up and down loads of steps. There is a lift but quite small, we left that to who needed most. However, this kept you fit and allowed you to indulge at the buffet!
The hotel offers free Wifi, you have to remember to login each time, can be slow but does work.
We loved our experience here and would definitely return. A big thank you to all the staff for making our holiday.
