“quiet and delightful”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

The road to this hotel is narrow but it is short, and when you arrive, the view is exquisite. It is near the Coast path so there are delightful walks immediately from the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the food was of the highest quality with emphasis on home made dishes, jams etc. There is a convenient washing machine and drier available for no charge. The hotel is small so booking early is essential. The staff are extremely helpful. With all the walking I needed a podiatrist. They found one for me who had a vacancy and made the appointment. I look forward to the next visit.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room that takes full advantage of the magnificent view

I rang to book for lunch. No problem. Just come. We did but were told the lunch menu of two courses for £15 wasn't available. The menu offered was very limited and not what we wanted. The people on the next table were in the same position. We will not be returning.

I’m sorry that you left so disappointed; clearly we made an advertising error. We are just about to launch a new exciting lunch menu with some very tasty sharing plates, in the hope that we can add something extra special to a daytime at the Cove.

We stayed here for 3 nights the beginning of June. It is a beautiful peaceful place, ideal for a relaxing break. As weather was glorious we really did not want to leave our sunny patio complete with parasols and sun loungers overlooking the sea. The staff were very obliging - nothing too much trouble! If you want to get away from it all and enjoy natural surroundings, this is the place. Would definitely recommend!!

This hotel is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the planet! The attention to detail is faultless, the staff are delightful, attentive, smiling and helpful. The swimming pool (salt water, heated) is large and well maintained. The food was fresh, well prepared and very special, even the raspberry jam with scones was of the highest quality and no doubt homemade. We left feeling relaxed and although the price is quite high it is worth every penny!

Our location is indeed magical and I’m so pleased that you had such an enjoyable holiday. The staff always gives 100%, there’s nothing we want more than our guests to go home feeling relaxed and well looked after. The Salt water swimming pool has been a huge success; it really has added that wow factor to our leisure complex. Thank you for your lovely review and we look forward to welcome you back.

We stayed here for one night, and will definitely be coming back for more. We arrived with two 10 year olds, and our little dog and were shown to a super suite, a large master bedroom and smaller twin bedroom.

The hotel staff were lovely and my only niggle was that I felt the room rate wasn't clear and it was obviously much better value to stay dinner, bed and breakfast (as the kids ate for free) than just bed & breakfast.

The food was delicious but overall it really felt so relaxing to be there.

Tennis court needs some work done, however the bumps and daisies only added to the excitement of our family tournament.

Great swimming pool too.

We walked along the headland and had lunch at the Port Light restaurant, which I would also recommend.

Room Tip: The eddystone suite was great for a family of four or maybe more.

Thank you for leaving such a lovely review! The Edystone suite is also one of my favorite family rooms; the sea view is truly incredible and ideally located for letting the doggie out. I hope that you can stay a little longer next time you visit.

My wife and I stayed at this delightful hotel to celebrate her birthday in early May, and what a present it was.
The hotel is set in one of the most beautiful coves in the South Hams and the rooms are quaint, comfortable and spacious (ours also had wonderful views of the sea and the hill sides). The staff are attentive and a pleasure to interact with, whilst not being OTT.
The food was another plus & if you get a chance, sample the seafood platter of fresh Lobster, Crab, Mussels, Prawns, etc. it is certainly worth every penny.
The location of the hotel offers stunning walks around The SW coastal path, one way to sunny Salcombe or the other to Hope Cove & Thurlstone and to top all that off you can take a dip in the lovely salt water indoor pool and relax with their on site spar treatments.
A truly wonderful place. Thank you for such a memorable weekend.

“After a wonderful day at the beautiful Soarmill Cove beach I and noticed a small door at the back of the wardrobe. On opening the door I found myself in a strange and marvellous world. During my stay in this special place I met many friends and travelled to many places. On my return to our world I found I had been away only a few moments of our time and had transported to a totally different room”. And that your Honour is how I happened to be in Miss XXXXX’s room, naked at four in the morning!
