This was I think my 5th time staying at this bed and breakfast. It is like coming home! Marla and Joe are perfect hosts. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There are always fresh cookies waiting. The breakfast is fantastic! I will be back once again.

We spent just one night at The Queen's Residence, but can't wait to return. The house is beautiful and grand, with many many rooms in which to wile away the time. There are fireplaces and blankets; libraries; a grand dining area; fresh-baked cookies; tea; hot chocolate. There is even a hot-tub outdoors, which is very clean and lovely. There is also a quaint tavern which can be set up for a lovely meal (if requested). We only met Marla, but she was very nice and helpful. She also cooked a fabulous breakfast the next morning at the time we requested!

We are looking forward to returning, this time for a weekend. We are also thinking about going with another couple or two for a group weekend.

Highly recommended. We had a couple's night, but I imagine it would be a great place for a family or even a solo traveler -- especially one who likes to read.

This inn is a jewel! Every corner of this residence, built in the 1800s, is tastefully and lovingly decorated withbeautiful antiques and window treatments. You can envision what it must have been like when horse-drawn carriages (or sleighs) clip-clopped slowly down Huron Street past this home. Beautiful, clean and spacious with towering ceilings and cracking fireplaces; but the cherry on top was the AMAZING 1700s road tavern (moved from Connecticut and originally purchased for Henry Ford's Greenfield Village) reconstructed in careful detail in the basement of the home. Three kinds of fresh-baked cookies, hot chocolate, and a refrigerator full of soft drinks awaited our arrival, along with steaming hot chocolate. While it was a bit too chilly during our November stay to enjoy the lovely courtyard, it would be a beautiful spot for summer breakfasts.

Marla and Joe are wonderful hosts, welcoming and warm; Marla prepared one of the finest breakfasts you'll find in Michigan. (Hint: Don't fill up on the first course!) We enjoyed the company of new friends during breakfast.

We stayed in the Newton suite -- roomy and extremely comfortable with an amazing queen-sized poster bed, and a separate sitting room where our son slept in the twin-sized built-in bed. We also enjoyed our own clean and private bathroom. Pictures that you see online definitely don't do this beautiful inn any justice!

This was our first stay in a bed and breakfast. And it definitely won't be our last! If you're ever in the Ann Arbor area, two "must sees" are a Michigan football game (GO BLUE!) in the Big House, and the Queen's Residence. Highly recommended!

It has become our home away from home as it was our fourth stay.
We like the Newton suite because of the sitting area separate from the bedroom.
In the morning we loved having a cup of coffee by the fireplace.
Breakfast were excellent (crepes, French toast...). Marla is a wonderful cook and
Joe a good host.
We will be back soon.

We came in late and were still warmly welcomed with a friendly greeting, refreshments and a nice tour. The room was well decorated, clean and inviting. I even enjoyed a nice morning bath with bath salts and a comfy robe to step into after! The breakfast was delicious and wonderful. We only regret we forgot to see the Tavern! We guess we will have to make another trip! Joe and Marla were a delight to talk with and have a true gem of a home filled with fine antiques and great company! Thank you for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay!

Room Tip: All the rooms are really nice, we were partial to the Queen suite because it was roomy, next to a co...

We are sincerely thankful to Joe & Marla for opening up their home and their hearts to us throughout our 11 day stay at this truly outstanding B&B. Although on a first visit to the USA, we felt to close to being at home and very privileged of the whole experience. Joe & Marla provided service far beyond expectation and their support and friendship.

We had the pleasure of staying at Marla and Joe's B and B while we were attending the Ann Arbor Arts Fair. We decided to go just before the fair was to start and there were not any available accomodations in Ann Arbor. We stumbled on Queens Residence and are so glad because this was a gem! We try to stay at B and B's when we travel and often refer to the Select Registry book or website to find accomodations. Queens Residence is not currently a Select Registry listing but should be: the accomodations are clean and super comfortable and the attention to detail is top notch. We stayed in Newton Suite and it looks much better in person than online. I had to email to ask what bed they have in the room, it was that comfortable. There is plenty of room as there is an adjoining room with sitting area and TV. The bathroom is not ensuite but is just outside the door and completely private. I also peeked in the Barnard Suite and it is adorable, I would stay there next time.
There was a cancellation and a couple who missed their flight so we ended up being the only guests. Marla went out of her way to ask us what we would like for breakfast since she could accomodate any preferences due to us being the only guests. We had a delicious vegetable fritatta and wonderful fruit with granola and yogurt. They also have juice selecions and coffee or tea.
The home is architecturally outstanding, high ceilings, plaster crown mouldings and stunning woodwork throughout.
The outdoor courtyard is serene and has plenty of seating to relax after a day exploring. I would recommend and I hope to be back!

Room Tip: Barnard Suite has an ensuite bathroom and fireplace. Newton Suite has a private detached bath but h...
