I accidentally ran into this B&B a few years ago, thank goodness. Joe and Marla make you feel like you are at your own home....need I say more? Homemade breakfast, homemade cookies plus coffee, water, pop, cookies all available 24 hours a day! I have been staying there a few years and have stayed in 3 of the rooms. The hardest decision we have to make is not where to stay, but in which room in The Queen's Residence do we want to stay!

Room Tip: Pick any one!

We glad you love coming because we love having you! There is nothing more rewarding for innkeepers than having people return year after year. We are proud to say that we see some of our guests more often than we do our local friends. It is nice to have friends from many different places!

We stayed at the Queen's Residence B&B a couple weeks ago when we were visiting the area for a wedding. We were so happy that we decided to stay here! The house is absolutely beautiful, and Joe and Marla were so friendly and fun to chat with! The location is also great, as you are just a few blocks from historic Ypsilanti. We stayed in the Barnard Room, which is charming and spacious, with an adorable little dressing room complete with a darling vanity and ample closet space. The collection of antiques in the house is lovely, and we especially enjoyed all of the beautiful little sofas (including the one in our room!) The bathroom in our room was remodeled and comfortable, with the softest towels I have ever felt! Breakfast was generous and delicious, and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests while we ate. Also, there is a secluded area with an outdoor hot tub, so don't forget your swim suit!

My only issue was that the Barnard Room is over the main street, and so you can hear random cars drive by every so often. The room has a window a/c unit, which at first I thought was a little loud, but when I turned it back on I realized it covered up the street noise and I fell right asleep. In the morning I noticed that there is a white noise machine in the room, so I think that would help with the street noise if you were staying in the winter.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend it!

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! With regard to the "noisy window a/c", I would like to clarify for future guests that that was a temporary measure while our condenser for the a/c system was being repaired. There is no longer a window a/c to contend with. Hopefully, the sound machine does in fact help with the street noise that can be heard from this room. We are close to down town so the traffic goes with the convenience of being able to walk to shopping and restaurants. We hope to see you back again!

I travel quite a bit and love to discover new adventures. Loved this charming, B & B found in Ypsilanti (Yip-si-lan-tee), MI. While the area is full of many hotels they surely don't come close to the charm of this old world B&B. Treat yourself and enjoy the Queens Residence nestled in a lovely setting of downtown. Marla and Joe take extra care of their guests, the house itself and the yard. We had an enjoyable stay, with a great breakfast. This place is real eye candy! Thanks Marla and Joe!

Thanks for helping get "the secret" out! We are glad you and your sister and cousin found us and enjoyed your time with us. Guests have found that there is a lot to look at and explore in our inn so even though you were busy with your family reunion it appears that you took some time to do that as well! Thanks also for the compliment about the breakfasts. We serve three to four courses so that everyone has something for breakfast that they like.

What a wonderful place! My family and I ended our holiday with a two night stay at the Queens Residence. We were treated like royalty! Our special diets were catered for perfectly and we wish we could have stayed longer!
Joe and Marla were very welcoming and their home is stunningly beautiful!

One of the very best parts of owing a B & B is that you get to meet wonderful people from all over the world. We are so glad that we were able to host this delightful family from Ireland. Hopefully this review will encourage others from outside the U.S. to stay with us. And yes, we make every effort to accommodate special dietary needs.

My husband and I were warmly welcomed by the owners, who readily accommodated an early check-in we requested a half-hour before we arrived. The first thing we noticed is the home is beautifully decorated and maintained. We stayed in the Newton Suite, which has a large comfortable bed, and another bed (and an additional sleep sofa) in an adjoining room. The adjoining room is set up like a living room, where we enjoyed watching movies and reading. The bathroom was enormous! We didn't eat breakfast because we were visiting family, but it smelled wonderful. And there were always (absolutely delicious) homemade cookies available (such as peanut butter and cinnamon nut), which we enjoyed with complimentary sherry in the evenings.

Room Tip: I would definitely recommend the Newton Suite. It feels like your own private home away from home.

We are glad you liked our inn (and the cookies!). Next time you will have to eat breakfast with us...that is half the fun!

In March, my son had his Senior Voice Recital at Eastern Michigan University. We flew from Colorado for this event and stayed at The Queen's Residence, yet again. My family took up four of the five rooms and everyone loved the stay. Marla and Joe took care of special diets for the breakfasts, which was greatly appreciated. My mother is still talking about the house and what a great weekend it was! Marla even attended the recital which was very special to us. Thank you! I will be there again in a few weeks.

Room Tip: The Newton Suite is great if you are bringing along a third person, as there is a bed in the adjoini...

This family has been coming to The Queen's Residence for most of their son's tenure at Eastern Michigan University which is right here in Ypsilanti. Guests who return repeatedly are what make this such a great business. We look forward to seeing them and think of them as friends. Thanks so much for your loyalty. We will miss you when Jeff graduates!

Your review is a great testimony to the benefits of B & B's and "stay-cations", e.g., vacations that are often spur of the moment and close to home. We are glad that you enjoyed the atmosphere of our B & B, conversation with other guests and the breakfasts. Again, where else than a B & B can you experience a unique home, great people and good food!
