Dear Ahmad S, I am so happy to read you rate the hotel so highly and certainly look forward to you staying with again in the future. As you have highlighted Al Waha is the ideal choice for families with young children amongst the three hotels within the resort. See you soon! Warm regards, Mark Kirk
Amazing hotel! Lots of things to do and visit! The staff is friendly and helpful! Our family had a great time! Beach, swimming pools and the lazy river! Camel ride or pony ride! Fun zone for the children during the sunniest parts of the day.
Overall wonderful experience!
Dear pdalmeida, Thank you for visiting us from Dubai with your family recently and posting your feedback. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay and that your kids enjoyed the facilities provided for them. Hopefully you will make the resort your first choice for future breaks. Warm Regards, Mark Kirk
We loved muscat, but it was just an overnight stay, the hotel was perfect, clean, good food , close to the beach, nice cool swimming pools, the concierge was really helpful as we had only one day to visit muscat. We loved the bedrooms, too rooms with a little hallway and a main locking door, perfect for us with 2 teenagers.
Dear Irishsuz, Thank you for visiting the resort recently and taking your time to review the resort. As you mention Muscat is a great destination and hopefully you will return and stay longer and explore the many tours and attractions that are available. I am delighted you enjoyed the resort. Warm regards, Mark Kirk
the resort is set far from muscat, but not from its people's hospitality and warmth. after much price watching, we finally found a great deal over the summer break, and now i wish we'd stayed an extra day. our kids are still raving about their time. the rooms were all ocean views for the family rooms, as well as overlooking the lazy river at the waha hotel. nearby are the snorkel trips, as well as dolphin watching, or scuba dive center. theres hors back riding and camel rides on the beach as well, and kayaking, and you name it. If you're patient enough to wait for the deal, you can't miss with this one.
needless to say, all the staff were so amazing. a truly five star experience.
Dear Mohsin K, I was delighted reading your review and that you enjoyed the many activities and facilities available, the camels are certainly a big hit with both our younger and older guests. Most importantly thank you for highlighting the staff as they are really the ones that make guest stays special. We look forward to welcoming you back. Warm regards, Mark Kirk
My family stayed in this exclusive hotel in Oman for 5 nights in July. The resort is about 25 - 35 minutes by car from the airport and slightly out of Muscat city.
Within the resort, you would be spoilt for choice on activities or just laze around on the many deck chairs dotting the property. A service staff will place a deck chair cushion, beach towel as well as coolant box filled with chilled bottles of water for you.
My family went scuba diving with the resort dive centre on two days. The dive centre is fully equipment, equipment is new and they have two nice boats docked at the marina. The dive centre also offers activities such as dolphin watching or snorkeling trips.
When in season, you can also join in the Turtle hatching sessions. One evening, we sat on the beach just waiting to catch a glimpse of the turtle hatchlings. In addition, you can meet with the Turtle Ranger and learn about the different types of turtles in Oman such as Hawksbill and Green turtles.
Needless to say, the service standards within the hotel and restaurants are top notched.
Dear Kevin_Chan9898, Thank you for posting your review in regards to your recent stay. I am happy to read you enjoyed your stay and found the talks with our turtle ranger interesting. This year we have had over 120 turtle nesting on the resorts beaches and a lot of guests have had the opportunity to see either the mothers of the babies hatching. The season is near the end with a few nests still due to hatch and then the new season will start late January. Warm regards, Mark Kirk
We recently had our 4th overnight stay at Shangri-la and we just couldn't get enough of the place. No other hotels in Oman so far would compare to the beauty, food and overall experience at the Shang. I must add, they really do have great promotions every year so we always make sure to book during those times. Having stayed in both Al Waha and Al Bandar on previous occasions, I will always prefer Al Waha and especially now that we have a toddler in tow. Al Waha is closest to -- the Splash pad which my daughter can't seem to leave, one of the starting point for the Lazy River, Al Waha's big pool with 2 kiddie pools, billiards, free use of pc/internet, children's play area/room and of course, the beach. You can also use the facilities and pools at Al Bandar hotel if you're staying at any of these 2 hotels.
The buffet was so, so good.. there was a widespread of dishes that even if they have a particular theme for dinner and in case you're not into it, then you can still find other dishes which I'm sure will be appealing to you. My favorite will always be the breakfast.
Our room was great as it was a beachfront, and facing the lazy river. Loved the amenities, and the facilities inside our room.
The service was also good and fast.. love the free bottled water and unlimited beach towels they give you whenever you need one.
We also tried the Adventure Zone for the first time which was meant for kids and kids at heart like us. There's just so many things/activities which can be done at the Shang, one night is just too short to enjoy the place.
Dear Bon-Tin, Thank you for making the resort your regular place to stay when escaping the city of Muscat. I am sure the readers of your review will find your tips useful especially those with young children. I am delighted you enjoyed the food served and will share your feedback with the kitchen team. Warm regards, Mark Kirk
