“Decent walk but the caves are amazing!”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

We weren’t too sure on whether to pay the $5 fee and head down to the caves but they turned out to be extremely impressive. The walk took about 25mins one way and the caves themselves were huge and went in about 100m. A little bit of climbing was required to get into the caves if you didn’t want to get your feet wet but you could easily walk the water otherwise, it’s pretty shallow. For people not wanting to do either you can access the cave from another entrance if you walk around a bit further.

“A lovely walk and beautiful caves!”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

The walk to Cathedral caves is delightful - even in the rain! The beach is golden and the scenery amazing with the forest rolling right down to the see. The caves themselves are an amazing sight and all the children seemed to enjoy the adventure. Well worth a short trek. Be sure to check the opening times as the gate only opens at low tide. There is also a small charge - but definitely worth it!

“Great little trek”

Amazing walk through native bush to see the caves at low tide. Make sure you don't get caught out by wave that comes up the entrance The walk back up is a good workout.

“Spectacular Caves”

Well worth the walk down (and up again) and the $5 charge. It would be worth taking a torch if you can, but it's not absolutely necessary.

“Fun family outing”
Reviewed 1 May 2013

We had a great trip to the caves with young kids in tow. The trip down through natural bush is lovely, though is all downhill and was a little worried about the return leg. We got to the beach right on low tide (walk is only open 2 hours either side of low tide so check before you go) so could get into the cave without getting wet. Be prepared to get a bit wet though if you aren't right on the low tide. Surprised how beautiful and golden beach was. The return walk was easier than expected and the kids made it up without any trouble. Took us about 1.5 hours including time exploring the cave and beaches. Highly recommend this walk.
Probably should mention that there is a charge for use of the track ($5 adults, $1 kids).
