Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Bemidji over the 4th of July weekend and was not all the impressed. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the beds were absolutely awful. They are incredibly hard and were difficult to sleep on. Also, the walls and ceilings are thin, so neighbors can be heard. The room itself was fine, nice mini-firdge and microwave, but a very small bathroom. The breakfast each morning was nice, with some hot items and a little more than 'continental' breakfast. Overall though, not worth the $100 per night if you can't sleep.

My seventy-five year old mother and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Bemidji Minnesota for two nights starting on Saturday, February 14th, 2009. When making our reservations online, we requested a room on the top floor, away from the elevator and road noise, but we received a room on the main floor near the lobby, elevator and front door. They apologized that they did not receive our request and told us that the hotel was all booked up, so no room changes could be made. We found that there was plenty of parking, both front and back, but a limited amount of winter plug-ins for the car.

The well lit medium-sized room included two very low and hard double beds, each with four pillows on them, a clock radio, one comfy chair, one office-type chair with a table/desk, a large television with plenty of channels (including some from Canada) and a remote, a mini-refrigerator, and an iron/ironing board in the closet area.

The medium-sized bathroom included three sets of towels, a hairdryer, a coffeemaker, bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and mouthwash, as well as a bar of soap and lens cleaner for glasses. There was a handle at the back of the shower that my mother was able to use to get in and out of with ease.

The hotel is across the street from the Paul Bunyan Mall and other shopping, as well as some restaurants.

Despite the fact that the walls and ceilings were rather thin, the guests staying at the hotel were very quiet, so any worries we had about not getting the room we wanted turned out okay.

After taxes, the American Automobile Association rate per night for Room 116 averaged $110.00 U.S. Funds. Overall, we were very comfortable in the room as it was clean, but the beds were rather well used and need to be replaced as soon as possible.

I travel regularly throughout the midwest, about 40 weeks a year. This is my first stay in this particular Holiday Inn Express.

The mattress in my room was the hardest mattress I have ever slept on. And it felt like a cheap/hard mattress. For $100 plus a night this was very disappointing. I was in this hotel two nights and the bed was so uncomfortable I barely slept.

The room was clean, the linens were fine, and all that, the coffee at the breakfast bar was not very good, though the rest of the items were fine.

So, if you like incredibly hard mattresses, this is your kind of place. But I won't stay here again.

My fiancee and I were originally planning on staying only one night, but we loved the room so much, we stayed the entire weekend. The rooms are recently remodeled, and everything is super clean and the rooms smell good. The service was great too, we even booked a block of rooms for our wedding weekend and booked the conference rooms for our reception.

This was a very nice motel. We were exhausted by the time we got here last winter. We had reservations at Ruttger's Birchmont Lodge, but that place was filthy with no running water. We called the Holiday Inn from Ruttger's, and they said they would have a room ready for us. They had switched shifts before we got there, but the person that I had talked to on the phone left a note for the next person on duty. It was around 11:30 when we got there, and they checked us in quickly. Our room was very clean & comfortable, and everyone was very polite & helpful. We really enjoyed our stay, and it turned what started out as a bad vacation into a very fun, relaxing time.
