We had a great time Turtle Shores was amazing so much room no one felt crowded. We had 19 people and had a great time. The lake has a bit more weeds and much then I care for and we had a little problem with a jet ski otherwise a great vacation. Will be going back again.

I love northern Minnesota ma and pa resorts and this is the best one our family has ever visited. First, Turtle Lake is stunningly beautiful and extremely clean. Plus it is big enough, but not too big to be a good fishing and recreational lake. Second, Arcadia lodge is on the premier location on the lake with the resort located on what is almost a peninsula and the cabins on the side of a hill, at the top of which is the lodge which has spectacular views. Third, the swimming beach is the best resort swimming beach I've ever seen with water toys too numerous to itemize. Our kids and grandkids practically lived on the beach and in the water during our entire week. And fourth, the cabins, while not fancy, are very nice, spacious, well furnished, and as a bonus, have air conditioning. It is the ideal place for an extended family gathering. We are already booked next summer for another family gathering (kids and grandkids) at Arcadia Lodge.

Room Tip: Lots of tradeoffs with, lake views and number of bedrooms (up to 11) the main considerations.

Stayed here August 2016 with a group of 13.

Resort Pros:
1. Nice sandy beach area that has sectioned off area for little kids. This was great as it kept the littles from going too far and kept the huge swath of teenagers away from the littles.
2. Beautiful lake. I cannot say enough nice things about the lake. It's very clear due to being spring fed, we went in August and didn't have the nasty dog days green floaties all over the lake like some MN lakes.
3. Wi-Fi at the lodge- albeit it was a bit unreliable (see cons)

Resort Cons:
1. Wi-Fi was not very reliable in the lodge, this is to be expected considering the remote location of the resort. Because there is little to no cell service anywhere at the resort, everyone is in the lodge using Wi-Fi for Netflix, games, etc. so if you need to get a little work done while at the resort like I did, good luck!
2. The grounds were dumpy. The trash is overflowing which judging from past reviews both here and on other sites, it’s like this always. Because our cabin was down the road a bit, we had to endure the flies and smell anytime we wanted to go enjoy the resort amenities. I feel like there HAS to be a better place for them to put the dumpsters. In addition to the garbage issue, things just weren’t very clean and organized. The beach area was very crowded with very large wood chairs which made it difficult for many people to enjoy the sandy beach at once. If people were just laying down a towel or bringing their own beach chair, I would think it would seem much less crowded. There are several small buildings on the water by the docks that all had just junk piling up near or in. Eye sore but didn’t really impact our stay at all. I’ve stayed at many resorts in MN that are very well maintained and are clean and well organized…this was not one of them.

These pros and cons are specific for Shoreview as I did not see the inside of any of the other cabins.
Cabin Pros:
1. Cabin has its own dock and own yard.
2. Large kitchen area which works great for feeding large groups
3. Satellite TV for when it rains
4. Some beds were comfy

Cabin Cons:
1. Lawn hadn’t been mowed in weeks which meant that while we were trying to enjoy the large yard, we had to wade through calf deep grass.
2. Nothing has been updated in the cabin since the 70s or 80s
3. Dirty, dirty, dirty. From the second you drive up you can see that this is a dirty unkempt place. The front deck is covered in cobwebs and a half inch of filth. The kitchen was cleaned, furniture was newish but every little nook and cranny had dirt, dust, cobwebs. The carpet everywhere but especially in the basement was gross. I would not let my children play on the floor of the basement. There are water stains all over it. You can just tell that there is major water damage in the basement that hasn’t been fixed..mold probably.

Overall: We had a great time with friends and family but definitely not worth the $2,400 for a week that we paid.

Room Tip: Shoreview is far away from the resort if you like privacy and dont mind a dirty cabin!

A favorite place for our large (60+) yearly family gathering. Great accommodations for large and small groups. Fun beach with lots of water toys. Beautiful location on Big Turtle Lake and just a short drive to Bigfork to replenish supplies. Golf is nearby and several state parks in the area. We have been coming here for several years and have never been disappointed.

We rented the Blue Spruce motel room, in the lodge building. It's not in the lodge, rather it's outside and up stairs. It had what we needed, a micro, small fridge, coffee maker and even a toaster. But, we had to ask for coffee packets for our second morning as we didn't get housekeeping. Also, one of the coffee cups (which was turned upside down on the tray) was dirty. If we return to Arcadia, it'll be in a cabin, when housekeeping isn't expected. Something else to know, there isn't a restaurant or bar (that we saw) on premises. Without a kitchen, meals need to be road trips and aren't too close.

Room Tip: Our room was a hike to the beach, there are cabins that are closer.
