Spent a couple of days with a group of 12 friends, playing the course. The course is extremely demanding physically, & a tough test of your golfing ability. The condition of the main part of the course, the fairways, tee beds etc, were very well maintained. Unfortunately, I could not say that for the greens. I had read previous reports that they were not up to the standard that one would expect, & they were accurate.
The greens were patchy to say the least, & not in that good a condition. Also they had been treated during the week before, with some sort of dressing in granual form. This made it difficult judging putts for line & distance as they bobbled around on the surface. It was frustrating for us all as the greens had quite a few undulations as well so they would not have been easy if they were perfect. There are quite a number of very tough holes, particularly the 7th & the 17th, & quite a few with very sloping fairways. It definitely was a testing weekend but we did enjoy it. One thing you will definitely need, & that is a buggy. As I've said it is a demanding course, & unless you are young & sprightly, you will struggle to walk round. The average time to complete a round was approx. 5 hours. We would go back again, but hope the greens will be in better condition.

Under staffed - and those that are there could be more enthusiastic and helpful.
Overall: room for improvement.

Firstly Tim the golf director was extremely helpful The holes ranged from fairly straightforward to horrendously difficult which is what you want and was in very good condition considering the weather will come again asap

“Good course but very slow play”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

Played on a Sunday afternoon on a hotel golf break. The course was in good condition considering the amount of rain that had fallen in the previous 24 hours. They do not use temporary greens in the winter. It is a good challenge but with a lot of walking between some of the holes and quite hilly. Best to hire a buggy if you can. When we played it was very busy and took five hours to get round and as we were only a two ball it was far to long.

“A real challenge”

Good course but buy a guide! A good few dog legs and blind shots. Good condition and would love to give it another go. Scored 93 off a h/c of 17 so its fair.
