Spent a couple of days with a group of 12 friends, playing the course. The course is extremely demanding physically, & a tough test of your golfing ability. The condition of the main part of the course, the fairways, tee beds etc, were very well maintained. Unfortunately, I could not say that for the greens. I had read previous reports that they were not up to the standard that one would expect, & they were accurate.
The greens were patchy to say the least, & not in that good a condition. Also they had been treated during the week before, with some sort of dressing in granual form. This made it difficult judging putts for line & distance as they bobbled around on the surface. It was frustrating for us all as the greens had quite a few undulations as well so they would not have been easy if they were perfect. There are quite a number of very tough holes, particularly the 7th & the 17th, & quite a few with very sloping fairways. It definitely was a testing weekend but we did enjoy it. One thing you will definitely need, & that is a buggy. As I've said it is a demanding course, & unless you are young & sprightly, you will struggle to walk round. The average time to complete a round was approx. 5 hours. We would go back again, but hope the greens will be in better condition.
