This is an amazing place to visit! Many local cities offer a two for one cupon to visit. If you are looking for a great place to do photos check it out.

The time of year was not very good for the conditions but this is of no fault to the Arboretum. That being said, the place was set up beautifully and useful. It is such a large place that they have a 3 mile drive for your car. Which was useful because even though it was October, it was a beautiful, warm, day to be hiking. The roses were wonderful to look at. The scarecrows were well worth the visit. The parking was free. The admission price was very reasonable. It is truly a gem in the Twin Cities, though it is a bit of a drive from outside of Mpls. I hope I can make the trip again when they weather is nice!

There is a restaurant to purchase food. The staff was friendly. The selection was plentiful and delicious but the price was a bit high. Thankfully it was just me as I cannot imagine a parent bringing their children to learn about the flowers and plants and than spending that type of money to feed them.

We were there on a cloudy fall day which admittedly wasn’t the best conditions for seeing the leaves or to put the reviewer in the best mood which might have exacerbated a couple of bumps in the road that day. Liberals: wow this was a hotbed of bumper sticker agenda in the parking lot and was apparent with all of the small framed glasses once we were in the park. Weddings: there were 3 the day we were there in October. This is nice if you are one of the wedding party, but we got kicked out of a shelter when it was sprinkling as the wedding party had to relocate to get married under the shelter that we were under. That didn’t make me very happy and should have given some negative feedback to the staff on departure. Oh well, there are 364 other days of the year. The layout of the gardens was impressive and on the 3 mile drive they had every plant in MN at this facility. Be careful of the people walking on the road as you are driving as apparently it is a mixed use pavement as the patrons tend to do whatever they please. The learning center was incredible and my daughter really enjoyed it. We have a free coupon that they gave us when we entered, so we will be back again. The pumpkin house was very cool and the apple crisp in the food area seemed like it was home made.

Nice place to spend an afternoon. Beautiful place and well kept. I wish the staff were a little bit more informative.

We visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in October. It's beautiful in the fall with prairie grasses drying out but still lots of blooming flowers around the visitor center. Be sure to explore the container plantings and gardens around the visitor center. We took the circular walk around Green Heron Pond - a beautiful path mostly among trees with a boardwalk and lookout point crossing one end of the pond. Also recommend the Sculpture Garden, Prairie Garden and Ornamental Grasses area. Would love to visit in the winter to see how the garden looks then.
