I stayed here in October, just a couple weeks after the hotel opened. It still had the new carpet smell. I'm not a big fan or Marriott's modern design elements that they are employing in common areas, something heavily emphasized in this property.
However, my room was large, well appointed, a very nice and very large LCD HD TV. The bathroom was a tad small, and I don't care for the vanity outside of the bathroom (personal preference).
The staff were very friendly. Breakfast had a lot of options in a larger area, which was kept well stocked and very clean. Internet was actually "high speed."
Appeared to be a nice pool, that I did not use.
Parking is an issue, it was parents weekend at UMD and hotel appeared to be close to sell-out. Guests were parking on lawn and on city streets - not enough parking.
Location: it is up the Miller Hill area. Therefore it is close to airport, UMD, and shopping. If you want to spend your time downtown, this might not be the place for you.
One final gripe, for a brand new property, built brand new from ground up... the rooms were not very sound proof. Hall noise was not a problem, but I could hear guests on both sides of my room.
